Glee Music: Season 2, Episode 1
Glee didn’t just top the ratings charts last season, it orchestrated plenty of musical chart-toppers in its own right. The September 21 premiere of Season 2 will be jam-packed with exciting tunes that represent a mix of musical genres.
Jay-Z‘s “Empire State of Mind,” Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” and three Broadway standards—“What I Did for Love,” “Getting to Know You” and “Listen”—will all be featured in the premiere episode.

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy is “a huge Lady Gaga fan,” so fans can expect more of her hits to make it to the show. Jay-Z’s song plays an important role in the episode, as New York is the setting for the huge Nationals competition.
Insiders have also revealed that five Britney Spears songs will be included in the Britney/Brittany episode, though mum’s the word on which ones.
The next Glee album is expected to drop in the fall, perhaps as early as October.
