Girls Rule at Country Music Awards
Taylor Swift, 21, earned the Entertainer of the Year title at the Academy of Country Music Awards, an awards show that became a girls’ night when Miranda Lambert took home four awards of her own. Swift gave Lambert a hug before she made her way to the stage to accept the night’s big award.
“I’m just losing my mind,” she said of the win. “The fact that this is from the fans makes it so special.”
Lambert lost the Entertainer of the Year title, but she was the biggest winner of the night. She won an award for best song, single record and video of the year for “The House That Built Me.” She was also named as top female vocalist for the second year in a row.

Other highlights of the night came when new American Idol judge Steven Tyler performed with Carrie Underwood to sing “Undo It” and “Walk This Way.” Rihanna sang “California King Bed” with Jennifer Nettles, of Sugarland.
Brad Paisley walked away with the Top Male Vocalist of the Year award, while Lady Antebellum won a statue for Top Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year (Need You Now). Sugarland won Top Vocal Duo of the Year, and The Band Perry is officially the Top New Artist of the Year.
