Brooks and Dunn

Nearly 20 years after releasing their first album, one of country music’s biggest duos has decided to call it a day.

Earlier this week, Brooks & Dunn announced to their fans that their long run will officially end next year. “After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time to call it a day. In an interview to air on CMT, the two claim animosity played no factor in their split. In fact, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have never quarreled. “We’re still good friends. I’m proud to say we’ve never had a fight, never even yelled at each other. And that’s the truth,” Brooks said. “We came to this decision that maybe it’s a good time to hang up the spurs, but before we do it, we’re gonna go ride the trail one more time,” he added.

The two-time Grammy winners will release their final CD, #1’s…and then some, on September 8. The album will then be followed by a farewell tour - The Last Rodeo Tour - in 2010.
