Tom Cruise has promised to help David Beckham become a movie star, according to reports.
The soccer player is looking for a fresh challenge now he has decided to retire from the sport and thinks he has what it takes to be a star in Hollywood and wants the Oblivion actor to help him establish himself on the screen. "David has always wanted to be an action film star, and Tom promised him a long time ago he can make those dreams come true. David still loved soccer but feels that now is a great time to transition into film while he's still young enough to land top-notch roles," a source told The National Enquirer.
David and his spouse Victoria became good friends with Tom and his now ex-wife Katie Holmes several years ago and their bond was strengthened when they were living in America when David was playing for Los Angeles Galaxy.
The sportsman is said to have his eye on a role in Tom's planned action sequel Mission: Impossible 5. "Who knows? We could see David in Mission: Impossible 5," the source added.

Bradley Cooper Grateful for ‘The Hangover’ Franchise

Bradley Cooper is "grateful for" The Hangover franchise.
The 38-year-old actor - who plays Phil Wenneck in the movie series - will miss working with co-stars Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha and Ed Helms and director Todd Phillips but says he is happy they were able to complete the trilogy.
"The good thing is, we got three movies out of it. That's the icing on the cake. It's sad. We're all pretty grateful. The third one, we were conscious of the fact it's rare that a comedy series gets three movies. I miss working with them. Hopefully they'll be in my life for a long time. I loved Phil. I love that character. I feel a state of gratitude. When we made the first movie, we had no idea that there'd be another two, so this is all kind of a bonus. "
The film sees the Wolfpack gang - comprised of Bradley, Zach, Justin and Ed - head back to Vegas to settle one final debt and The Hangover and The Hangover Part III co-star Heather Graham revealed she was thrilled to become an "honorary Wolfpack member." She said, "It's really fun to be around so many talented, cute men. They're so funny. I loved it. I was told I was an honorary Wolfpack member, so I felt very happy about that."
VIDEO: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Unveils ‘Don Jon’ Trailer
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Romance, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
After having lived most of his life as an actor and spending the last several years building up his production company, HitRecord, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has finally gotten behind the camera for a film in which he also wrote and stars (naturally): Don Jon. The film - which also stars Scarlett Johansson, Tony Danza, and Julianne Moore - is a romantic comedy about romantic comedies. Scarlett's character, obsessed with romantic comedies and Hollywood's idealization of love, falls into a relationship with Joseph's character whose notion of love is the opposite, fueled by his obsession with porn.
If you can get past the fact that JGL's character looks like he just came from the set of Jersey Shore (which you undoubtedly should, because the movie looks like a fun and entertainining examination about love), you can mark your calendar for the film's theatrical release: October 18.

Marvel working on Ms. Marvel, Blade reboot scripts
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Rumors, Scripts,
While negotiations with Robert Downey, Jr. about returning for Iron Man 4 and more Avengers movies have proven to be challenging, Marvel continues to plan for an immense branching out of its comic book adaptation films. According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Marvel has a writing program it uses as a concept generator and has scripts for Blade and Ms. Marvel features, for example. Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Black Panther and The Runaways are other projects on the horizon. The company slowly has been reacquiring licenses to characters it lost during the 1990s, snapping up Blade, Ghost Rider, Power Man and Daredevil in the past year alone.
A Ms. Marvel movie has us excited, mostly because superhero movies that are centered on women are very few and far between. A new and improved Blade reboot would be welcome as well.

‘The Internship’: A Watered Down ‘Wedding Crashers,’ Mostly Bores
Posted by Michael Porter Categories: 20th Century Fox, Comedy, Upcoming Releases, Theatrical Reviews,
The Internship is one of those comedies you keep hoping will be better but deep down in your heart you knew all along that it was really just a quick cash grab.
At least that's what I felt while sitting through the latest Owen Wilson and Vince Vaugh vehicle where they try to revive their struggling careers by taking on internships at of all places, Google. The central characters are mid 40's and after being fired from a sales company that has gone belly up, they embark on a trip to California to take internships at Google, the internet search king. Running gags ensue and much of the slang the kids use is meant to be seen as over the heads of Wilson and Vaughn. Almost all of the slang used by the young co-stars is very popular and the look of bewilderment on their faces would lead one to believe that the two actors were portraying characters in their 70's rather than 40's. This running gag gets old pretty quickly.

+ Even though people are still recovering from throwing their money at Star Trek Into Darkness this weekend and Iron Man 3 the two weekends before that, Warner Bros. wanted to remind them that they still ought to spend even more of it on Man of Steel, which comes out next month. Hence, the new trailer.
+ Justin Timberlake has proven to everyone each time he's showed up to the Cannes Film Festival that he's not only one of the most talented musicians, dancers, and actors around today, but that he dresses better than anyone else. No, really.
+ Now that Mandy Patinkin has signed on to star in Zach Braff's Kickstarter-funded film, stars like Kate Hudson and Anna Kendrick are taking note and jumping on the bandwagon.
+ Since it feels like years since we last heard about the film adaptation of Ender's Game, the marketing team behind the project decided to throw fans a bone by releasing a new promo poster featuring Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield (who strangely resembles Elijah Wood in it at first glance).

Ryan Gosling Reveals Unusual Habit in ‘Seduced and Abandoned’ Doc
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Documentary, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking, New Releases,
Ryan Gosling used to shove movies down his pants. The Only God Forgives actor was so obsessed with cinema as a child that he would hide copies of his favorite flicks in his trousers when his mother tried to punish his bad behavior by taking them away.
Ryan made the frank confession in James Toback and Alec Baldwin's forthcoming movie-making documentary Seduced and Abandoned, which screened to positive reviews at the Cannes Film Festival this week. "I loved movies so much, sometimes, I'd shove them down the front of my pants. I liked the way they feel," he said in an interview.
The documentary - which was filmed at last year's Cannes festival in France - gives a warts-and-all insight into the process of getting movies made and follows the 30 Rock actor as he tries to schmooze producers, financiers, journalists and actors to get on board a proposed film production starring himself and Neve Campbell.

Melissa McCarthy Fires Extra for Mistreating Child
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: New Line, Comedy, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors,
Melissa McCarthy allegedly fired an extra from her new comedy for mistreating her own child.
The Bridesmaids star - who has two children, Vivian, six, and Georgette, three, with her husband Ben Falcone - reportedly had the woman, believed to be in her twenties, removed from of the set of Tammy in Wilmington, North Carolina on Monday, after she "harshly jerked" her young child, who had accompanied her to the set.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the young woman had been struggling to control her child, believed to be four or five years old, all morning during the shoot by a lake, for which she was being paid $58 to be appear in a scene as an extra with 200 other people. The mother eventually lost her temper and "harshly jerked" the child up in the air by the wrist and was loud enough to disrupt the production. The incident was witnessed in full by Oscar-nominee Melissa, who is directing the movie alongside her husband, and she immediately requested that her personal assistant remove the woman, saying that she wouldn't tolerate abuse on her set.

Michael Douglas: Sex Scenes Are Judged
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Biopics, Drama, Period, Romance, Celeb News, Filmmaking, New Releases,
Michael Douglas says it is tough filming sex scenes because "everybody is a judge." The 68-year-old actor believes cast, crew and eventually moviegoers are more critical of love scenes because everyone can relate to erotic acts, as opposed to action and shooting scenes.
Michael - who has a gay sex scene with Matt Damon in new biopic Behind the Candelabra about pianist Liberace - said, "The hardest thing about sex scenes is that everybody is a judge. I don't know the last time you murdered somebody or blew anyone's brains out, but everyone has had sex, and probably this morning, which means everyone has an opinion on how it should be done."
Michael - who was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer in 2010 from which he has made a full recovery - now wants to make the most of his life and career while he can because he now knows how fragile life is: "In the past, on purpose, I've never known what movie I'm going to do next. I never knew how it would feel when I finished a picture. Now it feels great to be back at work. Maybe that's the benefit of taking a break with cancer."
