Sony Pictures has confirmed that, as suspected, Emma Stone (Easy A) will be among the cast of the new Spider-Man re-launch—though not in the expected role.
Stone will star as blonde Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker’s other love interest.
As previously reported, the role of Parker will be filled by Andrew Garfield (who may currently be seen in The Social Network), and so far no Mary Jane Watson has been cast.
Next up for Emma: an October 23 appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Jon Hamm wants to be the next George Clooney.
The Mad Men actor - who has long-been compared to the Hollywood hunk - confesses he would “love to emulate” the Men Who Stare At Goats star’s career because of the variation of his work.
“We already have a perfectly serviceable George Clooney, but that’s certainly someone whose career I would love to emulate because he’s been able to work in various genres and walk the line between drama and comedy. He also got started very late in life because ER came when he was well into his thirties, so he bounced around, not unlike me, from show to show and failed pilot to failed pilot, and then ER happened and he blew up.”

Theatergoers took time away from their personal Facebook accounts this weekend to enjoy some actual entertainment this weekend.
The Social Network—David Fincher’s film about the creation of that social media site—raised enough friends over the last three days to land the biopic in first place. Network’s $22.4 million outing also gave screenwriter Aaron Sorkin his best opening to date.
Case 39’s long-awaited debut barely went noticed. The Renee Zellweger/Bradley Cooper movie, which had been waiting for a release date for over two years, was produced for an estimated $27 million. Unfortunately, it only earned back $5.4 million of that from domestic audiences.
Meanwhile, Let Me In also struggled to find a warm welcome. The vampire thriller – a remake of Sweden’s Let the Right One In—took in only $5.1 million, enough for an 8th place finish.

Zack Snyder Teams with Nolan for Superman Reboot

Zack Snyder, the director behind 300 and Watchmen, has been tapped to helm Warner Bros.’ upcoming remake of Superman.
Snyder, who most recently directed Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, will work with producer Christopher Nolan on the project. His name was chosen from a field of contenders that included Matt Reeves, Darren Aronofsky, Tony Scott and Ben Affleck.
The story – as Nolan hinted earlier this summer – will have close ties to the Richard Donner versions. General Zod will reportedly be included in the script by David Goyer (Batman Begins).
No casting decisions have yet been announced. Production on the film should begin by next year.

Tony Curtis, an iconic film star of the 1950s and 60s, was one of Hollywood’s best-looking leading men, but his best-known roles were not the stuff of romantic heroes.
Curtis’s standout performances include the one where he played a woman (Some Like It Hot), the one where he was a dirty, angry escaped convict (The Defiant Ones) and the one where he was a dirty, abused slave (Spartacus).

Rupert Grint’s post-Potter problems

Rupert Grint had trouble adjusting to small film sets after working on the Harry Potter movies. The flame-haired actor - who plays wizard Ron Weasley in the long-running series based on the novels of J. K. Rowling - was confused when he worked on British projects ‘Cherrybomb’ and ‘Wild Target’ because he had been used to big budget environments. He told Total Film magazine: “It was quite an adjustment going from ‘Harry Potter’ to doing the low-budget films. It threw me a little - it’s just such a different way of making a film. But I prefer the pace of low budgets because it’s much more in the moment.”
The 22-year-old star also reveals he is due to star in a biopic about British ski jumper Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, but is nervous about it because he has never strapped on a pair of skis in his life. He said: “It’ll be great if it happens but we’ll see. I’m looking forward to the challenge because he’s such a big character. “I’ve never skied in my life, so I guess that might be a problem - but I’m sure I’ll pick it up.”

“I knew that it was in the two percentile of material that is just great. And then I heard David Fincher was going to be the director, and I peed in my pants a little bit.”

Rosario Dawson Wants Sin City Sequel Soon
![](http://assets.gearlive.com/images/member_photos/photo_1.jpg)

Sin City actress Rosario Dawson said that she needs the sequel to happen soon if she’s going to fit into the barely-there outfits.
The 31-year-old actress - who played prostitute dominatrix Gail in the first movie adaptation of the graphic novel - explained while she is keen to work on a sequel, director Robert Rodriguez needs to start filming soon or she will feel too old for the skimpy costumes associated with the character.
“The last time I saw Robert Rodriguez was a month ago and he really wants to make Sin City 2 happen. I said, ‘I understand you’ve been taking your time, but if you want me to wear the outfit that fits into one hand, dude. I’m not getting any younger.’”
The star also admitted she is grateful for her unusual looks - which are a combination of her Puerto Rican, Afro-Cuban, Native American and Irish descent - as some of her more conventional-looking friends struggle to find acting work: “I have friends of mine who are actresses, who all have blonde hair and blue eyes, tell me they think I am going to work more than them. One of my friends in particular - and she’s a pretty big actress - said, ‘There are a million girls who show up who look just like me every single day in Los Angeles fighting for the exact same job.’”
Facebook Movie Could Damage Zuckerberg’s Image

The Social Network, the much-hyped movie depicting the origins of Facebook, does not paint a very flattering portrait of company founder Mark Zuckerberg. The former Harvard student is the world’s youngest billionaire and already wildly successful though he’s several years shy of his 30th birthday. But his story, as presented in the movie, is hardly the stuff of American dreams.
Facebook execs attempted to get some parts of the film changed…but it didn’t work. Now, the famous social networking site (and it’s low-profile founder Zuckerberg) is preparing for the unflattering film to be a big hit with moviegoers (which seems, considering the cast and the huge promotional budget, a foregone conclusion).
