Robert Pattinson Trades in Fangs for Mustache in Little Ashes

Even though New Moon won’t be on the books for several months, you can still get another fix now.

Later this spring, the 22-year-old heartthrob will set aside the blood sucking and pick up a brush for his role as Salvador Dali. Pattinson will play an 18-year-old version of the famous surrealist painter.

The film, set in 1922, will focus on the relationship between the eccentric artist and his two friends, poet/dramatist Federico García Lorca (Javier Beltran) and filmmaker Luis Buñel (Matthew McNulty). It will also explore the attraction between Lorca and Dali.

Little Ashes is scheduled to open on March 27.

Ralph Macchio on Karate Kid Remake

If you felt yourself cringing when you heard about the Karate Kid remake, you weren’t the only one. Nevertheless, the original’s star is still finding one reason to smile.

In a interview with MTV, Ralph Macchio admitted that it feels “pretty good that so many people are angry” about the redo. The 47-year-old (yes, he’s that old) said it’s been great to see such an “outpouring” of response from fans of the 1984 classic.

Which Movie Superstar Could Play Barack Obama?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Celebrity Gossip,

Hollywood considers nothing off-limits in the world of film, even the presidency. Some lucky men have played United States leaders both fictional and biographical. Henry Ford became Abe Lincoln, Anthony Hopkins was Nixon and Josh Brolin was W. (to name a few). But who would Hollywood pick to become the first on-screen ?

During a recent red carpet event, said that he would take on the role if asked. But while Smith’s comments were said in his usual jocular fashion, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the idea - and I really see this one happening. Smith, already one of Hollywood’s most bankable leading men, has already proven that he can take on any kind of role. But would his big name serve to crowd out Obama’s? Should Hollywood cast instead a man who is relatively unknown to moviegoers instead?

Sean Combs Aims to Be the Next James Bond

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Celebrity Gossip,

Last month, it was revealed that Beyonce was vying for a role in a possible Wonder Woman movie. Now Sean Combs is publicly stating his interest about playing another action star.

In Diddy Blog #35, the entrepreneur and aspiring actor debuted a six-minute long “movie” for one of his new fragrances. (Aren’t perfume commercials supposed to show someone rolling around nude in silk sheets?) During his presentation, Combs stated why he might soon change his name (once again) to 007:

“I feel like I am best suited to be the next . Okay, we got a black president..you know, it’s time for black Bond. So this is also my audition tape and it’s my the movie for the fragrance I Am King.”

See Mickey Rourke as The Wrestler

I never thought I would find myself saying this: I’m really looking forward to watching this movie about a wrestler. (Granted - I’ve already seen Vision Quest. But that was an entirely different type of wrestling.)

Despite a list memorable performances (good and bad) through the 80’s, Mickey Rourke’s career - and face - eventually took quite a beating. Now, after some recent roles in Domino and Sin City, his name is once again being buzzed about. He’s even got people whispering about a possible Oscar.

Trailer #3 for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Despite the tone of the first two trailers, the 6th Harry Potter installment is really not as dark as it seems. At least, not entirely. This clip proves there are a few moments of levity to be found in the upcoming sequel. (It’s amazing what an “infatuation” potion can do to an hormonal teenager.)

Half-Blood Prince makes its way into theaters on July 17, 2009.

YouTube Goes Full-Length

Tired of snippets? Bored with small clips, when you want the whole show? YouTube will soon team up with MGM to offer full-length movies and TV shows through the video-sharing site.

At the start of this partnership, YouTubers will have the chance to watch original American Gladiators episodes in a single channel, while another channel will offer the films Bulletproof Monk and The Magnificent Seven. Clips from other movies, including Legally Blonde, will also be available.

Still not excited? Everything that’s offered will still be free! Ads will run alongside the videos to make up for this lack of pay-to-watch fees. Last month, YouTube worked out similar partnerships so the site could start airing full-length episodes of and Beverly Hills, 90210.

Watch the Trailer for Marley & Me

After watching the trailer for Marley & Me, I’ve determined this movie’s potential pluses are the same as this adaptation’s possible minuses.

  1. Jennifer Aniston: Although people are still fascinated by her personal life, they’ve seemed ho-hum lately about her film career.
  2. Owen Wilson: His past successes have been overshadowed by recent flops (The Darjeeling Limited, Drillbit Taylor).
  3. Marley: While I would normally feel pessimistic about any animal movie, how could anyone possibly explain ?
