Dennis Hopper Dead at Age 74
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Celeb News, Obituaries,
Dennis Hopper, the two-time Oscar nominee, died in his Venice, CA home today after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 74.
The actor, who was recently given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (you can see video from that March ceremony after jump), was best known for his work in films like Easy Rider, Blue Velvet, Apocalypse Now and Hoosiers. His lengthy career extended back to the 1950s when he first hit the big screen in cinematic classics like Rebel Without a Cause and Giant.
Despite receiving an Academy Award nomination for his writing on 1969’s Easy Rider (a movie he also directed), Hopper’s film and personal career hit a number of lows. Dennis battled drugs and alcohol, produced theatrical bombs (The Last Movie) and weathered five failed marriages (including a nasty divorce shortly before his death).

Sex and the City: Carrie Becomes a PC
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: New Line, Warner Bros, Romance, Sequels, Comedy, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Carrie Bradshaw’s Mac has become a staple of the character, as identifiable with Sex and the City as Manolo Blahniks. But all that’s going to change in the Sex sequel, where Carrie will become a PC. Hi, I’m astounded.
Carrie’s Mac became far more than a prop through the course of the six-season series. An entire episode (“My Motherboard, My Self”) was devoted to the device. It also played a large role in the two-part series finale, serving as a metaphor for Carrie’s true self. Now, all that’s being stripped away thanks to advertising agreements and (I suspect) studio interference.
Hewlett-Packard computers (and only HP computers) will be featured in the new movie. Sarah Jessica Parker will also be featured in upcoming ads for the computer company. Carrie Bradshaw would never sell herself out for some extra movie-making money - remember how she flat-out rejected the Season 5 book cover mock-up? The switch is one that will be noticed only by die-hard Sexers, but it’s a jolting difference all the same.

To Sequel or Not to Sequel: Comedies Out, Action In
Derek Zoolander and Ron Burgundy won’t be re-appearing on the silver screen, but action flicks G.I. Joe and Avatar have been given the go-ahead to create sequels. We’re seriously screwed as moviegoers when Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller have trouble making films happen.
Paramount has now axed Zoolander 2, a follow-up to Stiller’s hilarious comedy about male modeling, as well as Ferrell’s Anchorman 2, which would have revisited one of his best characters. According to a recent Twitter from Stiller: “Ron Burgundy and Derek Zoolander looking to appear in sequels. Both men destitute, without means or intellect to fund their own comebacks.”
Meanwhile, the second G.I. Joe movie is expected to hit theaters as early as 2012. Paramount hasn’t committed to a script or anything else on the project, but rumor states the company is fully behind the planned sequel.

VIDEO: John Corbett Confirms Sex and the City 2 Appearance
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: New Line, Warner Bros, Romance, Sequels, Comedy, Casting, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
UPDATE: You can see Corbett in the new SATC trailer here.
Turns out blogger Perez Hilton was right after all - former Sex and the City cast member John Corbett is a liar. But it’s okay, because Corbett was under orders not to reveal the truth. Lucky for spoiler-watchers, the actor is breaking his silence.
During a recent appearance on Lopez Tonight, John Corbett spilled the beans: he will have a role on Sex and the City 2. Those who remember Corbett from the series may know him better as Aidan Quinn, Carrie’s on-again off-again boyfriend/fiance from Seasons 2 and 3. “I was under orders not to say I was in that movie,” Corbett admitted to George Lopez.
Months ago, pictures of Corbett in Morocco surfaced. Rumors that he’s in the flick soon also surfaced - though they were categorically denied by the actor. But now, we can confirm: Aidan will be appearing in the movie. We can only speculate as to where the story will lead.
