“Crazy In Love” Was the “Perfect Fit” for ‘50 Shades’ Trailer

Boots says Beyonce's "Crazy In Love" was the perfect fit for the 50 Shades Of Grey trailer.
The producer - who created the trailer's soundtrack (seen after the jump) - chose to rework the singer's hi-tempo anthem into a slower, more sultry tune and says it was the best choice for the S&M movie.
"It just fits. I like to think of myself as more than just a producer. I look at what we did for the trailer and this version of the song is, very much in my opinion, a score. It was something that I consciously scored. Whenever it comes to the stuff that Bey and I do, I'll never speak for her, but I think that she killed it. She just absolutely killed it. The acapellas that she did gives me chills, so it's really dope," he said.
Boots also believes Beyonce's song is the perfect accompaniment to the raunchy movie which tells the story of how virginal Anastasia Steele falls for bondage-loving billionaire Christian Grey: "I think falling in love can make you do crazy s**t. That was the spirit of the original song in the first place, we flipped it and it kind of became a whole thing. This is the first time I've ever worked on a trailer."

And you thought that Only God Forgives was a little strange?
Ryan Gosling makes his directorial debut with the fantasy thriller Lost River (previously titled How to Catch a Monster), in which his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks plays a woman named Billy who finds herself in the city's underbelly while her son (Iain De Caestecker) discovers a lost underwater town. The teaser trailer (above) features Doctor Who star Matt Smith (whose character is aptly named Bully) tormenting De Caestecker as he demands him (and the audience?) to "Look at my muscles!"

+ Seth Green - whom you may recall from Robot Chicken, Family Guy, and Austin Powers - gives Larry King a compelling explanation as to why Ben Affleck is a poor choice as Batman in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman film.
+ Bette Midler is set to appear at this Oscars this year - additionally, she'll be singing for the first time!
+ Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller is in talks with Warner Bros. and Barry Sonnenfeld to adapt the short-lived (and much-loved!) ABC series into a musical for Broadway, which would star Pushing Daisies alum Kristin Chenoweth. Fuller says that he is also contemplating a film adaptation.
+ Michael Patrick King, who wrote for the Sex and the City series and directed both film adaptations, says that there's one more story to tell for Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha - greatly hinting at the possibility of a third film.

VIDEO: Trailer for Seth MacFarlane’s ‘Million Ways to Die’
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Universal, Comedy, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
if you've ever wondered what 1,000 Ways to Die would be like if it were set in a fictional town during the American Old West, Seth MacFarlane has answered your prayers.
In his upcoming A Million Ways to Die in the West, the Family Guy creator - who co-wrote and directed the film - stars as Albert, a nobody-type guy who falls for Charlize Theron's character, who in turn teaches him how to become a good enough gunslinger to rival Liam Neeson's villainous outlaw. The comedy - which, judging from the trailer (seen above), seems to deliver on the gore - also stars Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, and Neil Patrick Harris and hits theaters on May 30.

New ‘Maleficent’ Trailer Released

Disney is bringing Sleeping Beauty to life - Lord of the Rings style.
In a new trailer for Maleficent - which sees Angelina Jolie portraying the eponymous villianess opposite Elle Fanning's Princess Aurora - clips of the original 1959 animated film are intercut against the live-action adaptation of the Brothers Grimm tale, emphasizing the advancements in animation today. More new scenes featuring Jolie appear in the video (seen after the jump), including one which sees her - despite her evil reputation - warning the princess, "Aurora there is an evil in this wood and I cannot keep you from it," followed by what appears to be an epic battle involving Tolkien-like giant thorns that come to life.

VIDEO: First Look at Johnny Depp in ‘Transcendence’
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Drama, Science Fiction, Thrillers, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Will Transcendence finally be the one Johnny Depp film these days that isn't a complete flop? From the looks of the trailer - which begins promisingly but then ends on a rather boring note (we don't need a film to tell us that our society spends way too much time plugged in online these days) - I wouldn't hold out too much hope. Even my excitement in the fact that this is the directorial debut of Christopher Nolan's favorite cinematographer, Wally Pfister, has been lost after seeing the trailer.
Who knows - perhaps I shouldn't judge a film on its trailer. Hopefully when I check out Transcendence (in theaters starting April 18, 2014), I won't be thinking about how it seems like a bad quasi-prequel to The Matrix.

VIDEO: See Russell Crowe in First ‘Noah’ Trailer
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Paramount, Drama, Religious, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Hollywood gets Biblical with Darren Aronofsky's upcoming Russell Crowe vehicle Noah, and all I can say is that they seem to have gone overboard with the CGI.
From the looks of the trailer - which sees Crowe sporting a lumberjack beard and an ark that looks more like a wooden shipping container than an actual ship - Aronofsky has basically made a Passion of the Christ version of The Day After Tomorrow. Perhaps this is why Christian and Jewish audiences haven't received the film well at early test screenings - one Christian writer, Brian Godawa, got a hold of the script and went so far as to brand it dissapointing, "manipulative narcissistic nonsense." The director - whose last film Black Swan earned one Oscar and four other Oscar nods - has been unsurprisingly dismissive of the studio's concerns over the test screenings.
