Jamie Foxx Writing Laverne & Shirley Screenplay

The fate of the Laverne & Shirley movie is currently in Jamie Foxx’s hand.
Foxx, who recently starred in Garry Marshall’s latest film, is writing the movie based on Marshall’s classic television show.
Garry, who earlier revealed that a movie co-starring two of Jamie’s Valentine’s Day co-stars was in the works, told TV Guide Magazine that the Oscar-winning actor was crafting the comedy’s screenplay.

“Jamie and I are trying to do it,” the directed stated. “He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley.”
Roles for the sitcom’s original two stars - Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams - are reportedly being written into the film. The comedy, a spinoff of Happy Days, ran on ABC from 1976 to 1983.
