Funny guy David Arquette had to “trick” Courteney Cox into falling in love with him.

The Scream co-stars—who have been marred for 10 years and have a five-year-old daughter, Coco—met shortly before they started filming the horror franchise and while the actor was smitten straight away, he admits it took him time to win over the former Friends actress.

“Was it love at first sight? For me it was, but not for her. I had to trick her. We met at a pre-party before we started filming Scream. I was being a little cocky and Courteney was like, ‘Ah, I’ve heard of you,’ and we just kept flirting for a while. She’s just so gorgeous and she jokes around so much.”

The couple are now happily settled in Los Angeles, but David admits he can’t believe how quickly time has passed since Coco was born:

“Courteney and I were watching videos of her when she was two and she was just so cute. It really does go so fast. I said, ‘Coco, I’m going to bring you back something from New York. What do you want?’ And she said, ‘A dress. Bring me back a long dress,’ because she can wear dresses now she’s in ‘big girl school.’ She’s just the best… so much fun. She really is great.”

Courteney, 45, is currently enjoying success with new show Cougar Town but the 38-year-old actor says he won’t make any guest appearances because he is too old: “They’re telling me I’m a little to old to be cougar bait now. It’s sad, but so true!”

However, the couple will reunite on-screen in the near future after signing up to appear in the fourth Scream movie. David added, “To work with Courteney again is amazing.”
