One Direction want to make their own big screen version of Romeo and Juliet with Niall Horan playing the female lead.

The boy band - who were formed on UK TV talent show The X Factor - would love to branch out into movies and have their sights set on putting their own twist on William Shakespeare's classic romantic tragedy, which tells the story of star-crossed lovers who take their lives after their families ban them from seeing each other.

Movies are something we would consider but it would have to be what we want. We would love to do Romeo and Juliet as depicted by One Direction and we should play the parts. Niall would be Juliet," Harry Styles said.

"I don't really mind playing Juliet, if I'm honest. I'd do whatever is good for the group. I'm there. We are all there for each other," Niall added.
