James Franco and Anne Hathaway: New Academy Awards Hosts
For the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be going about as far away as Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin as you can get.
It’s been announced that Anne Hathaway and James Franco – two other Saturday Night Live hosting vets – have been asked to front the live event. This would be the second year in a row a pair of actors shared hosting duties.

Hathaway is, of course, no stranger to the Oscars. The one-time nominee joined Hugh Jackman on stage for a musical performance during the 2009 broadcast. She also helped announce last year’s nominations.
Although Franco has not yet been nominated, he has been receiving a lot of buzz lately for his performance in 127 Hours. His recent appearance on Inside the Actors Studio also proves that he’s a hot ticket.
"James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons— fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27,” the telecast’s producers said in a statement. “We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that."
