Box Office Breakdown: Indiana Jones Receives Warm Welcome From Fans

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Memorial Day weekend is for remembering, for bar-be-que, and for gigantic opening movies. Much-touted and highly successful in the past, the movies are staples of the action-adventure genre. Indiana Jones is even an amusement park attraction.

The flick, starring Indy favorite Harrison Ford and franchise newcomer Shia LaBoeuf, racked up an impressive $126 from Friday to Monday. These huge numbers have made the second-biggest opening movie for all Memorial Day weekends past. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian raked in $23 million over the weekend, with coming in third at $20 million.
