Zack Snyder just can't seem to please any comic book fans these days.
After announcing Ben Affleck as the next Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel - Batman vs. Superman - the internet nearly imploded from the degree of anger over the casting decision. Now, Israeli actress Gal Gadot is feeling a similar wrath over the news of her winning the coveted role of Wonder Woman.

Considering that the only major works Gadot has been exposed to American audiences are a few of the Fast & Furious films, it's hard to imagine why so many comic book fans are upset over the decision to hire her as Wonder Woman - until you place a photo of the actress next to an image of the Amazonian superhero. With her 5'9" frame and slender build, the former Miss Israel is indeed a far stretch from the more curvy depiction of the iconic character seen in both the comics and Lynda Carter's 70's incarnation. But that's not to say that Wonder Woman can't be of a different female body type, right?
The 28-year-old star was quick to defend herself, responding to the backlash: "Breasts... anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine... By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go 'by the book,' it’d be problematic."
Fans will have to wait until July 17, 2015 to see just how well Gadot fills Wonder Woman's patriotic leotard.
