Although cultural leads are not entirely foreign to Disney fans (we’ve already had Princess Jasmine from Aladdin, Mulan and Pocahontas), Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls) will be the voice of Tiana, the first African-American princess. (Oprah Winfrey will play Tiana’s mother.)
The Princess and the Frog - featuring songs from Randy Newman - is set in 1920s New Orleans. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25.
