Miley Cyrus Gets Custom-Made Nicholas Sparks Film
It looks as if Miley Cyrus is one step closer to finally leaving her Hannah Montana alter ego behind her.
Recently, the pop star hinted that her Disney show could soon be nearing an end. This is probably why the studio has moved on to Phase 2 of their commodity’s career: Put Miley In More Adult Fare.
After hearing that Cyrus was interested in appearing in film’s like A Walk to Remember (starring former bubble gum princess Mandy Moore), execs contacted the story’s creator. Realizing a golden opportunity when he saw one, author Nicholas Sparks not only agreed to work with Miley, he decided to write a screenplay specifically for her.
Variety
In the past, movies attached to Sparks’ name have been adaptations of already-existing books. This will be the first time Nicholas will write the as-yet-untitled novel and script simultaneously. Although the plotline is being secret, we do know the film will touch on “family and romance.” The movie’s production will also revolve around family as well. Leticia Cyrus, Miley’s mom, will serve as the project’s executive producer.
No start date has yet been announced for the film. Sparks hopes to have the book published by fall of next year.
Until that time, fans of the author’s work can see the big-screen version of Nights in Rodanthe - starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane - when it hits theaters on September 26. Amanda Seyfriend and Channing Tatum will also begin work on Dear John later this month.
