Bruce Campbell Gives Evil Dead Fans Hope
At last months Comic-Con, Sam Raimi told MTV that the chances of seeing another Evil Dead installment was very good.
“If the financing ever fell in place right. But first, I’d have to work on the script with my brother [Ivan Raimi]. And that’s something I’m hoping to find the time to do.”
But even if the busy director (Spider-Man) found time to craft another one for the “few weirdoes” out there, would Bruce Campbell even be interested? I mean, it’s already been 15 years since Ash faced off against the dead in Army of Darkness.
MTV
In a recent interview, Bruce addressed the buzz sparked by Raimi. “When he’s ready, I’m ready,” Campbell told MTV News. (I guess that means he’s interested.)
As for the age issue, the USA Network star said it would be something they would likely address…assuming the movie gets made at all.
“Sam gets to hide behind the camera. I can’t. But I think he’s planning on factoring that in. As like a major factor. It’d be a major liability, you know Ash runs out of breath or his back goes out and [stuff] like that. I mean I just blew my hamstring fighting a stunt guy for Burn Notice, the show that I’m doing now. So there’s a little bit of truth to all of that!”
So there you have it. Confirmation from both writer and star that Evil Dead 4 might someday be made. Now could they just stop talking and do it already?
