What was being billed as a huge comedy showdown turned out to be a pathetic fight. The debut of Get Smart easily outperformed Mike Myers’ live-action return to nab the #1 spot this past weekend.
Smart, starring Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson, picked up $38.6 million over the past three days - nearly $20 million more than The Love Guru. The big-screen adaptation of the ‘60s television series also averaged $9891 per screen, over twice as much as Guru ($4617) did.

Meanwhile, the weekend’s best performance belonged to a film showing in only 5 locations. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, a Picturehouse production based off the famous doll line, earned an amazing $44,059 per engagement.

I know there are some pretty “poor” reviews for Love Guru, but I’m not shocked that Get Smart won the box office…it does look like a great movie.
Did anyone go and watch some of these movies last weekend?
IT WAS THIRD! HAHAHA. I love it. Serves Jessica Alba right. Seriously. I AM SO GLAD IT DIDN’T GET NUMBER ONE. <3 As much as I LOVE Justin, I’m glad that Jessica got her black heart broken.
Actually, Love Guru ended up in FOURTH. So sorry, Jessica Alba. 😊
Eep. I can’t count. XD Well, that’s even better! :D
