"I'm not a fan of 3D, it generally feels like an intrusion," he said.
However, Simon has quite eclectic taste in films and enjoys everything from comedy to zombie classics.
"The last thing I saw was 21 Jump Street, which was very funny. And I was delighted to see The Artist do so well. My all time favorite films include George A. Romero's zombie classics which have been a huge influence and Young Frankenstein which I first watched on 16mm film. I had dinner with Mel Brooks recently and he said he enjoyed Shaun of the Dead, which was a delight."
Simon is also secretly a fan of The Hunger Games: "I'll confess to currently reading The Hunger Games to see what the fuss is about. I've enjoyed it, actually. I think people assume it's going to be like Twilight, which is like reading the diary of a teenage girl - but it's pretty compelling."

Although movie-goers have been kind to Madagascar 3 for the past couple weeks, it didn't quite stand a chance against the newcomer Pixar/Disney film Brave, which secured Pixar's 13th first place debut with $66.7 million.
The third Madagascar film secured its second place spot with $20.2 million while the period horror film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter debuted at number three with $16.5 million. Coming in fourth place is Prometheus with $10 million while Rock of Ages rounded out the top five with $8 million.

Jeff Daniels Rules Out Dumb and Dumber Sequel

Jeff Daniels says the proposed Dumber and Dumber sequel is not happening.
The actor - who starred in the original movie alongside Jim Carrey - insists a the follow-up to the hit 1994 comedy will not go ahead after Carrey dropped out.
"Are you going to get another Dumb and Dumber? It's on the internet - we're not doing it. It's all over the internet... [The movie's] not happening," he replied when asked by gossip website TMZ.com about the plans.
Charlie Sheen to Play President in Machete Kills

The 46-year-old actor - who last appeared on the big screen in 2010 comedy Due Date, in which he made a cameo appearance as himself - has been cast to portray the political figure by director Robert Rodriguez, who took to his Twitter account to confirm the news and post a picture of the pair together.
"I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon..(sic)" he wrote.
Following the announcement, Charlie later retweeted the message to his 7.5 million followers, adding the phrase "My fellow Americans!"
The former Two and a Half Men star could seek advice on the role from his father Martin Sheen as the 71-year-old actor has previously played John F. Kennedy in miniseries Kennedy - The Presidential Years and fictional Democratic President Josiah Bartlet in TV series The West Wing.

The actress was thrilled to land the role of the superhero's first love Gwen Stacy in the new movie because she is fascinated with their tragic romance which ends in Gwen's death in the comic book series.
"I think I have a morbid curiosity. I've always had this awareness of my own mortality, so it's like, 'Wow, that's pretty epic.' And also the way her death goes is so heart-wrenching and so tragic, it's not just her death but it's all the other elements of it that are a huge draw to the character. Does that sound f****d up? I thought it was awesome. I just thought it was just staggering, and so bold. And I know people boycotted the comics when it happened. It's a really wild and oddly very exciting element for me to play. There's a little insight into my psyche."

Justin Timberlake to Star in Baywatch Film?

Producers of the Paramount motion picture are reportedly keen on signing up the Social Network star to play one of the lead roles in the project.
According to Twitch Film, should Justin agree a deal to star in the movie - which Ivan Reitman, Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are all working on - then he will take on the role of a disgraced former Olympic swimmer who tries out for the Baywatch team of lifeguards.
The TV drama series follows the lives of a group of fictional Los Angeles County Lifeguards - who were played by David Hasselhoff (Mitch Buchannon), Pamela Anderson (C.J. Parker) and Carmen Electra (Lani McKenzie) - who patrol beaches in Los Angeles County, California.
The writers have already stated that the script will include roles for David and Pamela should they want to appear in the motion picture. Baywatch originally ran on NBC from 1989 to 1990 and it was syndicated thereafter from 1991 to 2001, changing its name to Baywatch: Hawaii from 1999-2001 after a large cast overhaul.
Jurassic Park 4 Hires Screenwriters

The duo - who were behind Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes - have been hired by Universal to pen the screenplay in the latest instalment of the dinosaur blockbuster.
Steven Spielberg - who helmed the first three movies in the franchise - has already ruled himself out of returning to direct the motion picture, but his production partner Kathleen Kennedy remains involved, and she has always stressed that the script will be the most important element of any potential sequel.
"A great script is what it's gonna take to get a fourth Jurassic Park. We have a very high bar for ourselves because we're just like the audience, we don't wanna make the movie if there's not a reason to make the movie. So we've kind of created the dilemma ourselves because it was never intended to be a franchise, so there's an argument to be made, 'Why are you doing a fourth Jurassic Park?' So we've gotta find a good reason for why we're doing a fourth Jurassic Park and we're in the midst of working on that right now," she said at the back end of last year.
There is no release date yet for Jurassic Park 4.
Christina Applegate to Return For Anchorman Sequel

The 40-year-old star looks set to reprise her role as Veronica Corningstone in the follow up to the 2004 comedy movie starring Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy after producer Judd Apatow confirmed she is onboard to appear in the forthcoming motion picture.
When asked if Christina will make an appearance in the movie, Judd told E!, "She will be back."
Judd is also hoping the movie will follow on from the first film - which starred Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, who are both expected to return for the sequel - and feature a number of celebrity cameos after attracting Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson for the original motion picture.
"I know that they want to do a lot of that. I just don't know who they're specifically thinking about," he added.
Jim Carrey Quits Dumb and Dumber Sequel

The comic actor had been due to join Jeff Daniels in the follow-up to the hit 1994 movie but has now left the project - which has been tentatively titled Dumb and Dumber To - supposedly due to a dispute with studios New Line and Warner Bros..
"I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer. After all, it's implied in the title," he said in a statement.
"Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project," a source said.
The movie had been scheduled to begin shooting in September and the future of the project is now said to be in doubt. Last summer Jim admitted he was keen to make a Dumb and Dumber sequel: "We're talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about. There's Bruce Almighty and we're talking about maybe another Dumb and Dumber."
Mark Wahlberg: Ted is ‘Seth MacFarlane on Steroids’

The 41-year-old star plays John Bennett - a grown man whose teddy bear comes to life when he is younger and never leaves his side - in the comedy movie, and the actor admits the Family Guy creator, who wrote, produced and stars as the titular character in the film, "pushes the envelope" with the motion picture's comical content.
"I think with Ted, people will not be disappointed, it's like Seth MacFarlane on steroids. It really is. I saw Family Guy and I thought, 'Wow, he's getting away with some of that stuff in a cartoon.' But now a feature film, Rated R, he pushes the envelope - there's nobody he doesn't offend either, everyone is fair game. I was down with singing and dancing on something like that."
