Our HP Magic Giveaway came to a conclusion last night, and, wow, we are calling this one a success, as we just got inundated with entries. We first need to thank everyone involved for entering and spreading the word on Twitter, Facebook, and the like. Of course, there can only be one - but if you feel a swerve coming, read on!

First, the winner was chosen randomly out of all valid entries. The person who came out on top of Ashe, with this comment. I’ve contacted him, he replied, and things are good.

Now, about that swerve. In the original contest, we mentioned that it would be awesome if the winner were to give some of those winnings away. After all, it’s the holiday season, and who really needs 3 notebooks, a desktop, and all that stuff? So, the cool thing here is that Ashe has decided to throw some items back into the pot, and he wants us to do a second giveaway! We will get it set up today, and will run it for another week. WOW: Wrath of the Lich King Launches Bigtime

WOW LichBlizzard Entertainment certainly knows how to promote a product. The company announced that it sold 2.8 million copies of Wrath of the Lich King within the first 24 hours, beating the previous record in Jan. 2007, when they sold 2.4 million copies of The Burning Crusade. As we previously let you know, Blizzard opened doors at midnight at over 15,000 stores worldwide. Before the launch there were more than 11 million gamers. We expect that the amount will increase with the new expansion sales.

Nintendo DS Using a clever advertising strategy, Nintendo will allow you to make a personalized wish list to your folks, family or friends from Mario. It only takes a couple of minutes to fill in the personal information, the holiday you are shopping for, the color of the Nintendo DS and 3 games you want. You can preview your message and send it by phone or email. We tried to set one up with the simple name of Mom and were told that was too difficult to pronounce. We just hope your name isn’t Poindexter.

Arcade Gaming Bank

Remember how much coinage you lost at the arcades? Now you can play a couple of those old games and save some cash at the same time. Every time you feed the Arcade Gaming Bank a penny, it will let you play either Tetris or Breakout. You can get a lot of practice in for a dollar if you can get used to the smaller screen. So, a few days ago we told you about our HP Magic Giveaway, and how we’d be giving away an absolutely ridiculous amount of prizes to the winner. Now, we are announcing the the contest has officially started, and we’ve got the details on how you can enter to win. First, though, a refresher on what we are giving away:

Yes, you do see four computers listed, as well as a Media Center Extender. No, you aren’t dreaming. Yes, we (and ) are awesome. You want the goods? Here’s how to enter to win - we are making this super-simple:

  1. If you don’t have one already, sign up for a Gear Live account
  2. If you don’t have one already, sign up for a Twitter account
  3. Add the Gear Live Twitter account to your follow list
  4. On Twitter, post a tweet about our contest and link to this page. In the tweet, include the phrase “#glmagic”.
  5. Once that is done, leave a comment here in this post with a direct link back to your Tweet. Be sure you are signed in to your Gear Live account before you leave the comment.

Here’s an example of an appropriate Twitter entry:

Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition and Arctosa Keyboards

Razer has announced two new gaming keyboards. The Lycosa Mirror Edition has improved with backlighting, cleaner lines and a high-gloss finish. Look for it in December with a $79.99 price. The Razer Arctosa Keyboard is what the company calls a “bare essential” with macro-programmable and media access keys. It comes in both silver on black and black on black, and will be out this month with the mini-price of $49.99.
