The Beatles: Rock Band Introduced by Paul and Ringo

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr unveiled their upcoming game ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ Monday at the E3. The combined effort of Harmonix and MTV Games features their early days at the Cavern Club in Liverpool through some of their later appearances with 45 mastered tunes with multi-part vocal harmonies. If you are into the album Abbey Road, it will be downloadable shortly after the September 9 debut, the same day Apple Corps Ltd. and EMI release the remastered Beatles catalog.

Project Natal blew our minds yesterday during the E3 2009 Xbox Media Briefing. Project Natal is a new method of playing Xbox 360, with no controller required. Instead, it “sees” your entire body, and tracks your movement in 3D, and even responds to voice commands, directions, and even your face. Facebook coming to Xbox 360

In addition to Twitter, Facebook is also coming to the Xbox 360 this fall. You’ll be able to update your Facebook status, browse your news feed, view photos, and more, all from the Xbox 360. Even better? Games can take advantage of Facebook Connect, to publish screenshots and other details directly to your Facebook account, if you so choose. You’ll also be able to send Facebook friend requests to those in your Friends list on Xbox Live, if they’ve linked their Facebook and Xbox Live accounts. PSP Go launches October 1, $250

The PSP Go will be launching in North America and Europe on October 1 at a price of $249.99, as announced by Sony at their E3 2009 Media Briefing. Those in Japan will have to wait an extra month, as the system goes on sale there on November 1. Deemed the “worst-kept secret of E3,” the PSP Go is over 50% smaller, and 40% lighter, than the original PSP. It includes 16GB of on-board memory, built-in Wifi, integrated Bluetooth, a Memory Stick Micro slot, and most importantly, it drops the UMD drive. If $250 isn’t too rich for your blood, the PSP Go is yours in four months.
Twitter is coming to the Xbox 360, as announced by Microsoft at their 2009 Xbox Media Briefing at E3 2009. You’ll be able to see recent tweets from your contacts, and you’ll also have the ability to update your Twitter status right from the Xbox 360 as well. Nintendo announces Wii Vitality Sensor

During their E3 2009 Media Briefing, Nintendo announced the Wii Vitality Sensor. Yet another add-on peripheral for Wii, the Wii Vitality Sensor clips on to your finger and monitors your heart rate, transmitting it to Wii and whatever game you happen to be playing. Obviously this fits in to Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus in some form, and could be used in interested ways for other games, but in all honesty, it just looks kind of annoying.

1 vs 100 on Xbox Live finally has a date, and you’ll be able to take part in the madness starting June 1 at 7:30pm PST. The 1 vs 100 beta is open, and free, to all Xbox Live Gold members, and you can actually win real prizes during the beta. Here’s a look at what you can win:
- One (1) Grand Prize : A Samsung 52” plasma HDTV and surround sound/receiver bundle. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Grand Prize: $3000
- Two (2) First Prizes : An Acer Aspire laptop computer. ARV: $500
- Two (2) Second Prizes : A Microsoft Zune 120GB music player. ARV: $200
- Thirty (30) Third Prizes : A Microsoft Xbox Live Arcade Game of Sponsor’s choosing. ARV of Third Prize: $15 each
Do note, these are the prizes available during the beta period. The actual skill-based prizes, where you can win Microsoft Points and all that, aren’t up for grabs until the beta period ends.

Blockbuster Offers Games By Mail

Blockbuster continues to try to save its assets. This time it is offering video to its mail rental service to Wii, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers. One subscription allows unlimited games, one at a time, for those with online-only service, while those with Total Access receive the same in-store exchange deal as they do with movies. Beginning with a pilot program in Cleveland in June, expect the service for all by the end of the year.

Activision New Game Lineup
