I’d better get a bluray player to enjoy a “real” HD 1080p. DVD can’t compete with bluray, even this device seems to be imitating the function of “good codec”?

I can see why someone would buy an upconverting DVD player if it was cheaper, because blu-ray players are quite expensive now. But this one is the same cost as a blu-ray player, so why not go with the real HD instead of the pseudo-upconverted-HD!

OPPO makes great products. Think of this as the last standard up-converting players you will need until OPPO finally comes out with one of their own designed bluray boxes.
Their players will read just about any format too.
