looks like they are trying to hit the kids with this one. must be just good enough for kid stuff so must not have to good of specs on it

This notebook doesn’t seem suitable for kids. They would definitely be doing a lot of unproductive work with it and it would be hard to monitor their activities. It seems like this notebook is really geared towards those that like to carry it around and use it as a portable laptop.
