Aside from holiday madness, I am unsure as to what you guys mean. One new article per week? Is that a joke?
I have actually been spending my recent time securing a ton of products to GIVE AWAY TO READERS for the Holiday Gift Guide. Wow.
Well that next article after “Xbox 360 Demo Sells Itself Short” was five days later, so no, not every week, but darn close. I just think many people have stopped visiting the site because of that, no need to take offence.
i think the slowdown could be attributed to the fact that our post counts and our old topics/posts were never transferred like we were told they would be.
Actually, the script is still in progress. The company has found the converting from the old protection of MD5 that phpBB uses, to the new one that we now use it a bit of a challenge. I still have the old database in tact, ready for conversion.
Yeah, I’ve noticed a decrease in articles released each week. Back in the day there was top coverage on things like next gen consoles, next gen ipods, cell phones, etc. Just a couple weeks ago the new razr (itunes compatible) phone was announced and it wasn’t even mentioned here even after I submitted a news tip. Back in the day things like this were posted on the front page like crazy.
Guys - I am only one man. Back in the day, I had others helping me get content up. Today, I do not. I am working on bringing in a few new editors to get more content back up on the main page.
Andru’s worst decision. It cost him a lot of forum members, and long time known posters.
And it was all because he liked the glass effect better
Seriously be quiet. He did it because phpBB is crap and he wanted to integrate the front page with the forums. There are still people around its just hard to keep it going when the big posters leave and that was before the change. The boards had slowed way down before the switch anyways…
Bryan basically stated why. There way too many problems with the PHPBB forum and this forum is part of the package that powers the main site. Basically everything is integrated into the whole site that is Gear Live.
Ever since the new board was impletemented, this site’s forum has been going down hill.
I don’t want to admit it, but this board is very close do dying.
I also agree. The new boards just turn me off on posting. I haven’t come to this site in a long time because of the new board.
