How cool is that? As I’m on vacation today and getting ready to go do some Xmas shopping a Bastard called “the Boss” calls up and gives me the greatest xmas holiday gift he can ever gift me.  My ‘you are laid off’ call.  Yeah I just got the boot today.

Yeah I feel bitter. He destroyed my xmas for me and my two little babies. Hope he gets a well deserved one too.

The good part is I just found out half the dept also got the boot today so I don’t feel half as bad :lol:  😢  :x

Damn man, I’m sorry to hear that—I hope everything works out for you.  I had the same thing happen to me 3 yrs ago yesterday.  I’ve since gotten a new job, and am enjoying my life more now than ever.  I know it sucks right now, but keep your head up—my life is better now than it has ever been…being laid off was actually a blessing in disguise.

As far as the original post goes, I’m really sorry that you got laid off. :( I sympathise even more with the fact that you have children (or maybe a wife and a child) that are suffering from this too. I wish you all the best in future endeavours, and I hope your days only get better after this one.

The thing I hate about having to get a new job or a different job is the moving… I’ve lived in 7 states because my dad gets promotions or job transfers or the company restructures so he has to go to another plant… he works for a big company with plants all over the US, so he moves a lot. I moved almost as much as a military brat when i was a kid.

What was the reason for getting laid off? Was your whole department just getting downsized? Is your boss fired, too?

Cost cutting.  The boss is still with the company.  Mr do nothing all day.

Mr Do nothing all day, hahaha. Yeah thats not fair that he gets to keep getting paid when you were doing the work. Corporate America is so greedy that it doesn’t make sense.. Someone there has to be making the money.

Yeah corp America sucks. Lotsa politics.  But I beat that’s where i’ll end up again in my next gig.  Hope for more pay.

Just remember that everything happens for a reason…. you’re bound to find something much better for you ... I just know it .... and keep on with that positive thinking. We’re here for ya.  😊

Thanks.  I sure hope things happen for the better.  The wife and I lost both our jobs this month.  Got two little mouths to feed.  I’ll look on the bright side.  At least I get to spend more time here now :D
