[quote author=“Tighr”]San Antonio does have a lot of great Tex-Mex. Austin, too. When I lived near Houston and Galveston, we had a lot more seafood than mexican (Like Landry’s and Joes Crab shack in Kemah).

Well I’m even more south than that .... since I’m in a border town close to the gulf, we have good Mexican Restaurants and Good Sea-food Restaurants all over the place… Authentic restaurants at that ... and of course ... all the churos you could want.

UTPA is in Edinburg….Which is like right next to McAllen. Weslaco is east of McAllen….Fairly close.

Yes, I have been to South Padre Island, but never during Spring Break 😛 I was, like, 10 years old at the time, and I doubt I’d find anything special about the scantily-clad women there, especially since I’m gay 😛

Yep, there’s something for everyone @ SPI during Spring Break.

Have you been to McAllen lately? It’s growing so fast that if you haven’t been here in a year you’ll get lost.

Lots of cities are doing that… its scary. I lived in Mobile, AL for 5 years 5 years ago, and the last time I went back after being gone for a year and a half, the whole city had changed so much that I didn’t recognize it. And now I’m going back this new years, and I’m afraid I wont recognize anything!

Nah, I haven’t been to McAllen in a while, and I just remembered that my dad’s girlfriend is from Mission, TX—is that near McAllen?

San Antonio is growing too. Have you been here in a while? It’s crazy, we’ve passed up Dallas in population size, and we’re trying to catch up to Houston 😛 But yeah, they’ve been doing construction on our highways for ages now ‘cause the traffic is insane in this city. The 410/IH-10 interchange now has, like, five huge bridges over it like some of the interchanges in Houston. It’s scurry!! :( Haha

  Girl you’re still young.

Yeah ... So much construction going on.

I haven’t been to S.A. in a while though :(

I hate driving in Houston. It’s way to crazy there.

The spaghetti bowl in houston is WOW! crazy. So many roads crossing… You’ll be on a road with an overpass and and an underpass, but there is one of each above and below those!!

Jeezus.  The first time I was in Dallas I just about killed myself on that 90 degree turn in the middle of the highway.  Texas has some of the most asinine traffic patterns.
Texas exits are fun though.

This is true^

You wouldn’t believe San Antonio with our highways. If you’re ever here, take a drive on north 281 at I-35. It’s, like, a 180 trap 😛

Can you drive, omcantu? It’s insane on that stretch of highway. And it’s about the same in quality in other parts of the city! Oy…

I know that in St. Louis, the exit from I-44 to I-55/I-70 is the craziest thing ever. First, you go from a 4 lane highway to an exit that is only one lane for a lot of traffic, and it is up a steep incline with narrow sides and tight turns, so its only 20 mph through the turn. Then you get onto the interchange, which is a 4 lane road that is basically 4 different highways all at once, and then it splits intwo two two lane roads!!! But there is a sign that says “all lanes lead to these roads”, which basically means no matter which way you turn you’re going to get to the end. So its a matter of picking which lane you think will have less traffic at that time. Its a madhouse during rush hour sometimes.

Of course I can drive. I’m 21.  Yeah it is insane and now they are re-building 281 here ... it looks crazy .... so many over passes and exits they are making now ....
