No, it does exactly what it needs to do: chat with people. I don’t need it to do my taxes, walk the dog, paint the fence, do my laundry… who needs that in an IM client? Too many features in some of these things. |

I’ve used both yahoo and AIM, and I prefer AIM. Its just better. Especially after deadAIM takes care of all the crap like ads. |

LOL ... you guys are funny .... they both do the same thing .. minus the tabbed messages… you type ... click send ... friend reads… types ... clicks send ... and the process begins all over again… now unless one of these clients does any thing remarkable that NO other client can do then ..... to each their own. |

Just because something came out first doesn’t make it better. I thought that was proven with technology. Someone comes up with an idea ... markets it ... then someone comes out with something better .... then the first company upgrades and the process begins all over again. |

Well, actually I just downgraded my AIM from 5.5 to the 5.2 version because I like it better. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. And I’ve never installed the 5.9 version because it looks like crap. |

I’m using 5.5 with Dead AIM 4.5 and it works great… none of the annoying crap. |

and yahoo is still so much better than AIM will ever be

The reason I downgraded to 5.2 is for talking while away. I like to talk to people with my away message still up. Sure you sacrifice some of the features of 5.5, like logging of idle times and things like that, but I think that 5.2 is still pretty decent. |

I tried Trillian and didn’t like the formating of the text ... maybe they improved it lately… I dunno… I still use all of them ... It’s no biggy for me having all three… |
