$19.95 for one, or $29.95 for three.  :D

Yeah, but I didn’t see where it had anything protecting the screen.  The iSkin has a hard plastic screen cover.  I just ordered the iSkin - $37 shipped is worth protecting my device.  For drop / crush protection you really need a metal / hard plastic case, but the iSkin offers enough shock absorption for my comfort.

agreed.  i just bought the arctic evo2.  i figure if it saves my ass once, it’s paid for itself.  yeah, it will give some shock protection, since it is made of a rubbery material.  enough for me.  can’t wait for it to get here!

really worth it? Looks nice and all, especially the glow in the dark ones, but with shipping it close to $40. Now, I know it’ll protect from scratches, what about an accidental fall? Anyone know if it’s durable?

Just wait for it to be available in a brick and mortar store, like the Apple store or Fry’s.

Fry’s sells it for 24.09 or something.

And NOTHING will protect an iPod from an accidental fall.

Yeah, cases will prevent scratches from falls, but I highly doubt any of them protect the HDD from damage.

That’s basically what the Evo2 does, so why not?  Or you could just cut / custom one of those Pocket PC screen protectors to go over it.  To be honest if I had seen the Speck one first I probably would have bought it.  I mean, as a guy I probably wouldn’t have used the pink one, but I could have sold it on eBay for at least 10 bucks.  Oh well, the one I bought is the “Ghost” and glows in the dark!  \:D/

haha.. yeah there doesn’t seem to be a huge difference between the evo and the speck one.. i got the 3 pack of the speck products one.. i took the white.. so I think i’m going to sell the pink and blue ones on ebay or something.  If anyone wants one you can pm me.. it will probably be about 10 and then added shipment

I’ve been pretty happy with my iskin.  The screen protector on the iskin is a piece of hard plastic with softer pads that contact and grip the screen.  The body is made of silicon, which is proving to be very durable.  It provides a measure of impact resistance and is grippy as all get out.  It sticks well to plastic.  (dashboard)  The only downside is price.  For those who have the Speck, what does the kraton plastic feel like.  Is it spongy?  It looks like hard plastic in the pictures and the flip cover on the bottom seems to speak to this.
Does it fit very snugly?  Is there room to place a hard plastic screen protector under the outside of the opening for the screen?

I’m currently pissed because it would appear that iSkin screwed up my order.  I received a confirmation email but they have no record of my order….  :x   So can I get the Speck at an Apple store?  If so I’ll probably cancel my iSkin order (which apparently doesn’t exist anyway) and buy locally.

The iPod itself is pretty good at falls, I’ve dropped mine onto concrete at least 15 times, still works fine. 😊

Yeah, I dropped mine while working out on the second day I owned it and it landed on my dumb bells.  DOH!  It bounced off and kept right on playing.  Still, that thing smudges and scratches way too much.  It looks pretty, but I question Apple’s use of such scratch prone materials.  A more textured metal back for example would still have looked nice but not shown every damned finger print!  >|(

It looks like iSkin will be giving Gear Live three eVo 2’s to give away to its readers. I am finalizing the contest details now 😊

oh please oh please oh please sign me up for that!!!

i got to the local apple store every day to see if they have the blush, vamp or lava in the 4G iskin for the iPod i got for my girlfriend.

i’ve heard people having trouble with orders online and i want to pick it up in the store but they just arent getting them in.  as a matter of fact, the apple stores are barely getting any 4G cases in and im surprised that they would unveil an item without a full line of accessories for it, especially cases.

anyhoo, when that contest starts, i pray i win it!

Yeah, iSkin just charged my credit card today (6 days after I placed my order) and are saying something like 4 weeks to ship.  Bullshlt!  I asked them to cancel it - I’m going to the Apple store as soon as I get cancellation confirmation and getting something there.  I’m going out of town tomorrow and need a case NOW!  :x

see, thats why i am not running to order direct from iSkin

dont expect a lot at the apple store.  the amount of 4G cases they have is very small and not very attractive if they even have any at all.

it really amazes me about the lack of accesories out for this product and its been a few months since its been available!

No response to my “cancel my order” request yet, buy my status has been updated to “delayed”.  F*ckers…  :x   I really like the case, but I’m not going to wait a damned month for one.

thats kinda strange because my iskin order just shipped and i ordered it monday straight from iskins.com.

And yeah, the MAIN reason why i’m buying an iskin over another protector is the fact that its not leather (cause i hate leather cases, bad experience with cell phone cases) and that it covers the screen. The screen is like, the most important part to me that doesn’t physically take damage, and i want to keep my new ipod free from scratches. It’s worth the 40 bucks. I got a clear glow in the dark one, don’t really care if it glows or not, but i got it cause it was clear. Though it was a hard toss up between that and the pink one. Maybe if i win another one in a contest, i can sport the pink case. 😉

I bought a carbon iSkin

the material is great, it is stretchy but apparently protective.  I don’t like the Speck one because it doesn’t protect the top i dont think (my friend has one) and it looked like a loose fit.  The iSkin however, fits like a body glove: tight and perfect.  Also, they give you that screen protector, another plus :D

what my friends and I did were buy 3 iSkins together off the site, and we split shipping so it was much cheaper.  See if you can do that

Im waiting for them to send my damn iSkin.  So I got bored today and decided to make some type of protective thing so my iPod doesnt get scratched.

The one on the left i made out of some random fabric around the house, and the one on the right i made out of a sock.
