My mom was a stay at home mom.  She had a job, taking care of me, and helping take care of my grandparents adjacent farm.

Did you spend time with a family member, or were you dropped off in day care as soon as you were born?

I babysitted myself.  I was a good independant kid who could take care of herself. I was born responsible.

Beyond the age of 6 or so, no—My mom didn’t work before that—sorry, should have elaborated on that more.

Far from being rich—Like I said in another thread, I grew up dirt ass poor and living in the ghetto.

i had the luxury of having my grammy live with my family. in elementary school, i’d just walk home with my friends, since most of us had the same general route. grammy was awesome, food always waiting when i came home. it was also nice on days you forgot your house key…

now my grammy lives in cali…sniffle.

Looks like being a parent is never done.  Once your kid moves out, they’ll send their kids to you for more work.  👏  :|

Wow.  There’s a chance I might have to end up moving in with my father-in-law.  His mother passed and they want us to take the house, which is great, but he “kinda” lives there to.  :|  You guys think it’s worth it??

hehe, tru, but in a lot of asian families, they stick to more traditional values, where the grandparents are taken care of by family instead of doin the retirement home thing.

i think my grammy wanted to take care of me anyway. i’m the oldest male of this u.s. born generation, so i dont think she wanted me to become some screw up or something, lol. so she just spoiled me rotten. works for me. dammit i’m gonna stop postin in here, its makin me miss my grammy. i think i’ll go visit her in december.
