No that’s not going to happen (sadly..) because they are milking the iPod and iPod nano, as soon as sales start to dramatically drop they will then introduce the iPod Photo, I know it will happen just not in November.

Interesting take. The iPod continues to be a top seller, not only for Apple, but among all the MP3 players. Video on an iPod is probably the most requested feature for a next iPod. However, they’ll probably upgrade the 20 to a 30 (just like their little mess up showed). The whole video sniplets in the code probably has to do with a (possible) video store or who knows it could just be something to do with iTunes capability for playing video which is known that it can do. Whatever it is, I’m sure they’ll make tons and tons of money.

What makes you an expert on such things? And what are you thanking us for, the time wasted to read your post?
theyll probably launch it in late January early febuary. Everyone will recive new nanos and chepaer photo ipod for christmas and other holidays. Once everyone has opened their gift downloaded some tunes and used it for a few weeks theyll introduce the video ipod so everyone goes and buy one of them.

On the bottom of most of my posts, if you have a comment keep it to yourself panzy. And I am not an expert Im just saying that they just released something based on sales they aren’t going to come out with a video iPod just yet. It was a comment not a fact.
I hope video comes out soon… My 20GB 4th gen iPod is F*cked up, not working right anymore, I get all kinds of crazy errors when trying to put music on it, and when I had music on it, it wouldnt play and then erased everything….
I was thinking before about how this would be a really good idea, when I was looking at my friend’s photo ipod I was thinking that a music video would look awesome on there. But it would be freakin expensive, I can’t even afford any of the ipods out now.
I don’t think the Nano will do much to hurt the Video iPod sales. The Nano replaces the Mini and it has different uses than a Video iPod will have. Nano is for short trips or working out and the Video iPod is more of a long flight or sitting at school all day player. I still think the Video iPod is going to be late 1st/early 2nd quarter 2006. Maybe they’ll have Bluetooth in it…

I personanlly wont get a video ipod i dont see a use for it. itll prob be around 100 gb and near $600. I rather get a small laptop with dell coupons you can get them for like $750-$900. I use my ipod when working out or just sitting there cause im bored, i dont think id want to hold it in my hands and watch a video on a tiny screen. For long trips and flights i use my laptop to watch movies or whatever else.
But thats just me the iPod Video should do well if its reasonbly priced and has a decent size screen. I think another major factor will be what the price of the video are via itunes. No ones going to pay $5 for a music video so i hope apple gets the price right.
Well that would be cool to have a wireless headset via Bluetooth, but Logitech already has something like that for the regular iPod, it’s a wireless headphone set small downside is that it costs 124 dollars.

I think it would be very likely to see apple jump on the bandwagon. Lets face it, you cant view video with your nano, which makes it a completely different product. Sales of the nano have fallen way short of apple’s expectations and honestly have nothing to do with a new product (especially if its already been in development) At this point you have to assume that if it is a product, it’s already done and waiting to be marketed correctly. No one hypes up things like apple.
On a more sad note: the ROKR sux dingleberries. (let’s leave that for another thread)
I think they just put the video button there in case people who have the current version never upgrade to the new version when the new iPOD comes out. And we all knew they would release a Video iPOD sometime. I think SniperCS is right, because they just released the iPOD Nano.

that makes no sense, why put something in there in case ppl dont upgrade: that would be dumb, you will likely get a copy of itunes with a new video iPod anyway.
If those icons are in there it means its coming soon. Within 6 months or else why would they do it? If the Video iPod needs special things they’ll just make you have to d/l a new version on iTunes for it to work. Not too hard…
I guess… but I still don’t understand why they would release the video ipod so soon after the nano.
They are 2 totally different markets. The Nano is cheap and replaces the Mini and is more for working out and mobility. The Video iPod will be expensive and not nearly as mobile. I mean thats like saying why release a new Mercedes SL500 when they just came out with a new C230…
Good Point, but if the option of the nano is not available some people might resort to the nano because its the newest craze and vice versa.
People didnt NOT buy iPod shuffles because there was an iPod photo. Obvisously someone that is looking for a small cheaper player is never even considering the video iPod. The nano may be new but it’s not a craze, at least not yet. If want a video iPod im not even going to bother getting a nano. If i want a convertable why would i look at pickup trucks (even if it is the newest craze).
