Did you ever do chat rooms, MUD’s, or IRC before Boards?

Boards just rock, because you can keep what you write posted for later reference, and also post images.
But before this I was a big-time user of Multi-User-Dungeons. One of them had an actual “dungeon” but most people hung around and chatted instead of playing the RPG itself. This was all text-based, back when we only had 2400-baud modems. :o 👏

I love chatrooms. I used to be a regular in lots of different chat sites but then I stop and move on.. forums are nice, they are usually slower and easier to keep up on.

It has a server browser, and it also has an irc client built in. IRC is for Pugs, and clans 😊

I used to Mudd all the time. through highschool and college. at one point I was one of the developers on the mud I played. Now I find myself ocassionally thinking of checking back to see what its like, but I realize I would never get any work done because I would always be playing it. as if I get work done now when talking on these boards, waiting to see if I get more completes on fip.

Yeah that totally sounds like me. I started to build a Mudd once as well with the help of a friend. It was too much work for me, and it wasn’t getting the traffic to make it worth it.

yeah, coding wasn’t too bad to add new features to an already existing mudd, that had 200+ users. You had the typical safe zones that people hung out and chatted in, but you had the people that were just there to mudd.

ahhh, ok..i think i have a friend that used to play that, and I’d look at his comp and ask him wth is he doin. he tried to get me to try it, but txt based games just aint my thing.
