You know, I always knew there was something up…I just never placed what it was until now.

It’s an interessting dynamic.  The Silver medal winners should be at least thinking: “Wow, I am the second-most fastest <whatever> in the world.”  But no, they just think: “Crap, I didn’t make first.”  It just shows how people like to focus on the negative.  :think:

And this looks like a world-wide phenomenon judging by these Olympic games.  :|

you should of seen the canadian win silver at the springboard diving competition. first canadian to medal in diving i think they said…he was totally happy with his silver…i think he would of been happy with a lead medal if it was given, lol.

yesterday, i think i saw aussie long jumper celebrate her silver medal finish…she was actually more happy than the gold medalist, haha.

an american runner said something funny a few days back “I don’t mind the silver, its pure silver. The gold medal is only gold plated. I think I came out the winner in that one.”

I, too, love that quote. Very different yet cool way of looking at it.

I can being kinda upset with getting second. When you work your life for one thing and you still aren’t the best it has to be upsetting. You’re always thinking, “just .04 seconds faster and I’d be the best.” Second place is a hard thing to accept for competitive people.
