I’m planning on renting a car later this month, and I’m hoping that Dollar Car Rentals will accept the temporary “paper license” they give you until your real one comes in the mail.
In Oklahoma (where I live when I’m not at school) they laminate our cards right there and we get them in 5 minutes. But when I used to live in Alabama, we had to wait 2 weeks to get them in mail, too.
Georgia has a temporary one that they print onto the typical credit card kind of material. Then you get a real one in the mail that looks just like it 😛
Getting drivers licenses renewed here [Pennsylvania] is a major pain in the @ss — The DMV is always packed, the AC is never working—ugh, I hate the DMV
going on a tuesday or thursday here in dallas prevents waiting in line forever such as on mon/wed./fri…we got the paper ids too, and we have to wait about 2 weeks to get ours.

Hehe…when I first moved here two years ago from po-dunk city, Indiana, I was terrified to drive anywhere. Now I’m a demon just like everyone else. :evil:
