How long does a DLP bulb last?

People don’t realize that they don’t have to replace the bulb on a CRT.  :|

I have no experience with DLP’s but I would think the age expectancy of a bulb would depend on the manufacturer—someone out there is bound to use better parts than the next. 

One thing I do know about them is that the filters inside them need to be cleaned out every 150-250 hours.

Bulbs last betwen 5000-8000 hours. They cost about $200 to replace. Not too bad for a set that has zero burn in.

Just got a 46” Samsung DLP (HLP-4663W), now just need to get a stand for it. I love this TV…..NO BURN IN.

how much $ was it?
my dad is looking for a nice big tv so thats why i am wondering
the samsung dlp is a nice tv

Any DLP is great, since there is no burn in. It retails for about $3100, but you can find deals and coupons, etc.

I purchased a Samsung 50 inch DLP projection TV and the bulb lasted all of three days!!!..needles to say, I returned the TV on got a plasma instead.
