Thought this was awesome…from engadget.com

Those of you who haven?t yet rushed out to procure a new fourth generation iPod most probably won?t be completely acquainted with all of its little nuances and small improvements. Toward that goal we wanted to tell you that if the headphones happen to pop out while a song is playing the iPod will kindly pause the music for you so you won?t miss a beat. That is all. You may return to whatever you were doing.

So I’m assuming you decided to go with the 4th Gen instead of the mini.

i actually took her into an Apple store and she said “Who would get a mini with 4 hours less battery and 1/5 the storage space for something that is only a little smaller?  Its pink, I do love that, but not enough to win me over.”

So without her knowing, i used her as my research to see which one she wants and now she is getting the one she truly wants.

haha, that was good. The mini is just all looks, but I’m not saying those looks are bad. But, 4 gigs vs. 20 gigs that’s a no brainer.

So back to the topic…  😊

Her favorite color is pink so that was the number one selling point but all the new features on the 20GB far outweigh the color

Why not get the new iPod painted pink? Just a thought. You can send them the iPod and have it professionally painted for $49.

well now…that sounds like a great idea

any idea if they will be doing the 4th gen?

This would add a week for me to give it to her but it would be a unique version of the iPod and in her favorite color.

This could be VERY nice and $49 aint bad since its a free iPod.

When you use colorwarepc.com to color your iPod.  nice knowing that for $100 I can get the iPod colored pink, the dock (if they get the new 4th gen dock in stock), the iTrip, and the headphones

I believe thats just to get the dock painted the same color. They sell the dock itself for $42 (not painted).

Yeah, that’s just to get it painted. They are doing the 4th gen they just haven’t updated all the pics yet.

just get a pink iSkin for it…

or just paint it yourself.  just gotta tape off the big round circle, and the screen, and give it a coat of her favorite color.

You dont just paint it yourself 😛

I will be posting a review of ColorWare PC iPod coloring services sometime tomorrow.

But to summarize - they do an EXCELLENT job.

And yes, they will be doing the new 4G.

I’ll be posting an mp3-player review shortly.  I have some pretty high expectations, but you can let me know if the ipod handles what I’ve come to expect.  Things like genre-specific playlist (not just folders), top-ten most played playlists, and also bottom-tens.  Cross-fading from one song to another, etc.

I’m not sure if this was a feature of preivous ipods, but if you plug your headphones back into the ipod after turning the thing off in the middle of a song, the ipod turns back on and starts playing back from the point you turned it off at.
