At the end of every year there is a talk of changing trends in every industry and logo design trends are no exception to this rule. The word trend can at times also carry a negative connotation but they aren’t bad for the industry. Yes, trends don’t start on 1st January and end on 31st December but trends do disclose certain meaningful insights and help graphic design designers to evolve and allows us to advance forward.

Designing corporate identity logos is an important part of designing industry as it makes or breaks the company’s image or brand identity. Therefore it’s necessary that we follow certain trends of the industry and keep ourselves informed without restricting the creativity. Some of the trends of 2010, as seen so far have been listed below. Go through them and find out whether you were part of the movement or chose a different course of action for yourself * your company.

• Big logos are in vogue. Oversized design of logos makes your visitors recollect your brand with ease.

• Graphic design designers are giving lot more importance to text based logos as they convey the intended message far more easily & perfectly, since such designs are more direct.

• The unbridled use of colors has become a standard practice these days.

• Typographic trends have not changed much because designers are disinclined to use new or different fonts.

• Free flowing and daring designs have replaced the old ones. The new trend could, at first sight, seem complex and over the top.

The art of logo designing is to create something that is timeless but following trends would give an idea as to why a certain design of logos isn’t successful. Think of it as some kind of inspiration that you think would work & then make the world go around it.

To stand out and be different at any and all costs - that’s the message for 2010. Designers have become far more sensitive to historical design movements and styles than they’ve been before. They’re going to be revisiting those roots more in 2010 - while they mix in a little bit of everything that has gone between. All in all the energing identities, logos and design in general will be more informed by generations of designers past.

Minimalism has been a strong anchor for clean lines, naked and somewhat sterile imagery and other accidental manifestations. Strict minimalism is fading, however, and we’re seeing that cleanliness serve as a support for the emerging sensibilities like overprint, derived botanical accents and texture. Spectacular remixes of old and new and a firmer embrace of 3D and color will be hallmarks of the next design movement.

History bears out the idea that new trends emerge only to be contradicted by others that go the opposite direction. While this maxim will not be disproved, there is likely to be a less dramatic flip-of-the-switch than we’re used to. The next movement will be built upon the old.

I think the logo for 2010 should be very different from the previous versions.
It should be very shining & modern looking.

The main idea of the Logo should be the same.
I will say that you make a similar logo with a bit of shine & other small changes.
