format, launched by Sony in October 1998. Generally, shop retailer never took the name of different family members of memory stick separately. In the market, its members are known as memory stick only. The original Memory Stick includes family members such as Memory Stick PRO meaning a revision that allows greater maximum storage capacity and faster file transfer speeds, second is Memory Stick Duo which is a small-form-factor version of the Memory Stick including the PRO Duo, and most smallest Memory Stick Micro (M2). After few years, Sony included another member known as Memory Stick PRO-HG which is a high speed variant of the PRO to be used in high definition still and video cameras.
These family members are well known for their specific features and qualitative performances. The Memory Stick PRO has a maximum theoretical size of 2 TB according to Sony. Basically, Memory Stick is largely used for storing tons of media contents in portable devices which can be easily be removed for access by a personal computer.
