Only in golf, when you don’t make the cut in a playoff, you still remain alive. This absolutely has to change for the playoff to have any credibility. Also, just go with the earnings. The points don’t make any sense to me. Everyone who makes the playoff should have equal chance to win the Fed Ex. If not, then don’t call it playoffs.

Here is how it should work:

1) Top 125 in earnings make it to the playoffs
2) Top 100 make it to Round 3
3) Top 90 make it to Round 4
4) Top 80 make it to Deutsche Bank

5) Top 60 in Deutsche Bank make it to Round 3
6) Top 50 make it to BMW
6) Top 30 at BMW (no cuts) make it to Tour
7) Winner of the Tour is the Fed Ex champion.
