Hello,

This is sort of an update of this thread: http://forums.notebooks.com/notebook-news/9-intel-centrino-2-performance-test-first.html (not mine)

The prices are given:
Centrino 2 pricing updated:

Intel has finalized pricing for six of its upcoming notebook CPUs to be released with the Montevina platform in late June.

Model   Price (USD)(in 1,000 unit quantities)
X9100   $851 (Wooooot!)
T9600   $530
P9500   $348
T9400   $316
P8600   $241
P9400   $209

In the third quarter of this year, Intel will introduce a quad-core Extreme QX9300 at $1,038 in 1,000 unit quantities. Quad-core notebooks are expected to remain niche products, and it will be about a year before they become mainstream. So it will still take a while!

I think Intel is such a amazing company and they are certainly one of the most reliable. Thanks for breaking down the prices, they’re really not that bad and are there details about when in June they will be released? 😊

I already heard it will be maybe moved to July. I don’t know if that is true. The prices are quite high I think if you look at the current prices of the C2D CPUs. In the thrid quarter they will release the first real Quad core CPU for a notebook. One big number: $1038
