What’s your favorite photo editor and why? Mine would have to be Adobe Photoshop because I’ve used it for a couple of years now and it’s just what I’ve gotten use to using. It’s a nice photo editor and there are a lot, a lot, a lot of tutorials online that are super helpful. 😊 I have used Photoshop for so many things and it’s also what the majority of my friends use as well.

would highly refer it to somebody who want to do some heavy duty editing
but for people who just simple home photo just go with acdsee quite nice and does not requires much skill

Photoshop is an absolute must for me. It is the photo editor they teach in my university and the de facto standard in my industry. I have tried several programs but I keep coming back to Photoshop because it does what I need done.

It has to be Photoshop! I own a legal copy of PS 9.0 and it simply rocks! Although it has some missing features as compared to CS3, it is more than enough for me!

Paint.NET is what i use when I dont wanna fire up that memory intensive PS! It works brilliantly and I use the 64 BIT version which is like slicing butter with a hot knife!!!

I prefer Adobe Photoshop personally because there are so many options offered to make any slight changes as well as change a photograph completely.  I also use IrfanView which is free.  Many times at school I will use IrfanView to resize a photo and crop it onto a document.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 basically owns all other pieces of software (besides the CS4 which is coming out soon!) and it is extra amazing since I get a copy of it free through my college!  Besides Photoshop though, I use Paint.NET and just Windows Live Photo Gallery on the old laptop that couldnt run Photoshop even if I had a license for it.  Both programs seem to work well for small jobs, but I always use Photoshop for the big ones.

Photoshop all the way (8 years and counting). Just put together some cashola for it and it normally retailed for like $1500+ and grabbed it for just over $1000 from Notebook City (http://www.notebookcity.co.nz) - the only thing I hate about photoshop like any other program is that it’s outdated within 18months - but thank gohd for upgrade packages….

....after 8 years I’m still learning new things about PS…..really is the most powerful SW package you could get - granted there’s a relatively steep learning curve….but you get over that if you’re passinate enough…

Photoshop is awesome, but costs money.  For my favorite free photo editor, it would have to be Paint .Net.  Though it’s only for windows boxes, it has many of the same features and it’s completely free.  Gimp is cool, but Paint .Net is easier to use.  It’s hard to find free Microsoft software, but this is one of them.

Hey
I think Picasa is the best powerful and free software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. If you always had problems keeping track of your pictures, Picasa will help you do that by sorting them into visual albums. Moreover, if you want to quickly touch up your photos, Picasa offers many one-click fixes to do just that. What’s more, the program allows you to easily share those photos through email, printing or CDs.

Thanks
