I’m going to be saving for a Playstation 3. Looking to get this thing free and buy the Revolution sometime in the future.

As of now, I believe that the XBOX360 has a better integrated architecture than the PS3. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see when PS3 comes close to launch. Even though, I’m really looking forward to playing the games for XBOX360. And Microsoft is even more ambitious this time around.

I was quite satisfied with the Xbox, I think it’s a great system. So I have no reason to believe that the Xbox 360 will be any worse. MS will get a great hold on the market coming out so much earlier than the PS3. I own a PS2, but I don’t use it much…more as a DVD player than a game system. I would use the Xbox as a DVD player, but i’m always losing that stupid remote and reciever.

The Xbox 360 really is rather expensive though. My one friend today thought I was crazy to same up money to buy that. If i’m crazy, then I know people who are just absolutely NUTS. I have friends who are always talking about getting the system and like 3 or 4 or more games. It’s a huge hit to my bank account to even go in and buy one game. With the system going up $100 from last generationg and games going up $10, it’s not getting an easier to be a gamer.

yes, the 360 is going to be great.  the main thing i’m excited about is the newer version of Xbox Live.  Does anybody know if our existed Live service will kind of transfer over to the 360?  Meaning, can you keep your Gamers Tag and all of that crap the same?

I heard there was going to be a seamless transfer of gamertags…

The gamertags are going to be transferred automatically.  Microsoft is overhauling XBOX Live all day today to prepare for the 360.  All that you will need to do in order to transfer your account over is re-enter your credit card information once you get ahold of the 360.  The gold service will not cost any more than Live costs now, so if you have a current subscription it will carry over onto the 360 and you will not have to pay again until your subscription runs out.

Trading in probably could get you a 360, assuming they’re available.  2 weeks ago I was in EB and they gave a woman 70 dollars for just an xbox with no games.  I bet just your xbox ps2 and your collection of games for each will net you 400…  maybe you’d only have to do the psp trade-in if you want a lot of 360 games, or toward a ps3 this summer.

only the psp trade-in? thatll get me close to 200 perhaps. the 360 is 300, and or the 400$ package if im not mistaken. id like the value of the 400 package. and i forgot how i not only get a present from my parents formy birthday but i get alot of money from my relatives. so ill have a buncha cash. but i stil think ill trade in all 3 because i dont play them anymore. would you suggest selling them on ebay seperately or using them as TRADE-IN value at gamestop or EB(yuck) , like which would be a better deal for me. thanks.

No, I meant if you trade in your xbox and your ps2, and your games for each system, (of course depending on how many games you have), it’d not unreasonable to suppose you’d get 400, which is enough for the real 360(as opposed to the mickey mouse BS 360).

If you really want to know, look up everything you’re willing to sell on eb games’s website, check out the used price, and divide by two.  That’s about what they’d give you for it.  Then sell as much as you need to to reach however much money you need for the 360 and games you want.

Oh, sorry, totally ignored the ebay question.

Selling them on ebay COULD be advantageous, but I’m not sure.  Do a few auction searches for things you want to sell on ebay.  See what the going rate is on auctions that are about to end.  If that’s better than what you’d get from ebay, AND you’ll charge in shipping about what the other sellers are charging, then maybe it’s worth your while to sell on ebay.  Of course, in my experience selling on ebay is something of a pain (I just hate shipping things), so it may not be worth it for you… especially if you’re only going to make like an extra dollar on some individual game.  It might actually be worth your while with the system, though… or if you’re convinced that all/most of your games are popular enough that you could sell your system as a bundle and get more than EB would give you.

im kinda out of games i just traded like 20 in and got enough for one game… ($20 for 20 games! EB IS RIDICULOUS) so basically just the consoles. ill check on ebay and see how much the consoles sell for as opposed to eb or gamestop. thanks for the help rashind.

I have a lot of friends who run businesses over ebay and everybody is saying the same thing.  They are going to take advantage of the market this year and jack the prices of the 360s up way beyond anything being sold at retail.  Your best best is to try GameStop.  They are projected to receive the largest shipment at launch because of some deal they made with microsoft.  I think they have to sacrifice their first born.

haha. so my plan is to bring my psp, xbox, ps2 and all the accessories/games, and trade them in for the xbox 360. i might keep the ps2 since i still like playing some games on it. but im definately getting rid of my xbox and my crappy psp. do the xbox controllers work on the 360? or do i need the new wireless ones :(

I’d advise you to go do that trading NOW.  When the new Xbox actually becomes available, the old one’s value will drop considerably… and I wouldn’t expect the PS2 to hold much value either, since a next-gen system will be out.

the old controllers will not work with the 360, it’s a completely different programming format.  If you are going to go to the trouble to buy the wireless controller then you might as well pay the extra $20 and get a play and charge kit, unless you have an uncle who works for energizer who can give you a constant resupply of batteries.

OK, it’s like this:  the play and charge kit comes with a rechargable battery that charges while you play with the play and charge kit attached.  While you only need 1 play and charge kit, you need the rechargable battery pack for each wireless controller.  It’s really not much more to get a play and charge kit for each controller if you are one of those (us) people that like to play for hours and hours.  Now Gamestop:  Online they have been sold out for awhile, but at some of the stores you can still get a pre-order, but you may not get in on the launch.  Either way, they will be getting them in the fastest so the most you would have to wait is maybe a week.

I’ve already dropped well over $1000 on all this $hit, so I’ve had a lot of time to research things.

OK, so it’s simple, if it’s just a bunch of halo fags, buy a cheap mask at wal mart, wait until one of them picks up their 360 and kick their ass, take the 360 and make a break for it.
