The follow up to the Game Boy Advance: SP.

If you ask me, that’s going to cause confusion for Nintendo kids.  They should’ve left that whole third-tier concept alone and put out the follow-up instead.

Doesn’t confuse me. The DS performs great at what it does. Game like Feel the Magic and Tiger Woods feel very unique when playing them. Feel the Magic doesnt even use buttons.

The PSP/GBA 2 will serve a different purpose and provide a different gaming experience.

To us it’s not as confusing, but to little kids and their non-techie parents, they’ll be wondering how come there’s like 3 Nintendo handhelds on the market and why they have to buy a new one every year.

Speaking of E3, Andru do you know something we don’t??  :think:  Again, if they announce the follow-up to GBA wouldn’t that hurt the DS market? Kids might pass over the DS in favor of waiting…

Kids are smarter now than they were back when I was a kid, as far as electronics go. Also, a product announced at E3 isn’t necessarily going to launch at E3.

At this point it isnt about the brand, its about the product. Sony has more than one TV on the market, Honda has more than one car, Motorola has more than one cell phone, and Nintendo will have more than one handheld.

Remember, the jump from Game Boy Advance to GBA:SP was just a year apart, and it was mostly a stylistic upgrade. The GBA:SP has been out for a while now, long enough to see a price drop even. The next Game Boy is going to be what Nintendo sees as the PSP competition.

I dont have any specific inside info, however, it has been what Nintendo has stated in the past. That said, the PSP and DS are currently both awesome handheld consoles. The DS game experience is definately a unique one, and the PS has the wow factor of next gen graphics on a portable.

I for one dont get why people feel the need to get on the bandwagon for one or the other!

I personally Like the look of the PSP better. Not to mention that Sony usually has better games than Nintendo. Of course that could change taking into account that the DS is a very unique handheld. Seems like we are seeing just the start of what could be the Biggest handheld Rivalvery. All we need now is Microsoft to jump on this. I know many people don’t like it when too many companies bring out products that do almost the same thing, however that means cheper prices for everyone and a bigger assortment of games.  😊
