Very, very interesting news. In addition to launching with Xbox 2 in 2005, apparently the Xbox 2-HD will come with the game pre-loaded on the hard drive .
I think that’s a great idea! Unless of course I cannot afford an XBOX 2 upon release at which time I will revoke my previous statement and hate the idea.
?Halo 2.5 will be an Xbox 2 launch title and is going to run in HDTV resolution with new, improved textures and graphical effects. All the stuff that people expected from Halo 2 but didn?t make the cut will be there.?
This will be awesome. I wonder what the “stuff” will be? :?
?The technology that powers Halo 2 has been designed from day one to take advantage of the next generation hardware,? the insider added. ?In Halo 2, the Xbox was pushed to its limits but now the game will reach new heights with the advanced hardware.?
This will definately be worth seeing. Halo 2 was awesome in my opinion. To top that will definately be worth the wait.
?Now, here is the twist. Halo 2.5 will come preloaded with the optional HDD. It?ll be one of the two reasons to get the Xbox 2 that comes with a hard drive. The other reason? well, you?ll just have to wait?
I hate that quote. :| What will this other reason be? :? I just hope this new system will not be ridicously over priced.
I liked Halo 2 but in my opinion Halo was better in almost every aspect except graphics. And even then Halo 2 didnt win by much. Dual weapons amusing for a while but then it got boring. And then you have the new vehicles which I really liked. But the punches got weaker the pistol was degraded because it was “too cheap”.
I will be purchasing this!! YAY! I have gone far too long without a game console. I gave up my gaming part of me years ago, and it’s time I picked up a controller once more 👏
P.S. I heart Halo, so this will be perfect for me. Especially since I’m really sucky at it! LOL
When did you lost your gaming spirit? You were all into Fable and MK: Deceptions! 😛
But yeah, there are going to be three versions of the Xbox - two of them this year, and the third probably coinciding with the PS3/Revolution launch dates.

😛 Hehe—well, that was on my ex’s consoles. I need to get consoles of my own now so I can do some *real* gaming :mischeif:
And I will also be purchasing a PS3 as one of my first consoles in a very long time. That’s gonna be one expensive year for me :|
Blu-Ray is the next disc format. It will replace DVD’s. It uses a blue laser, and is able to hold a lot more space. This allows for HD movies to be released. The PS3 will use Blu-Ray discs.
And I am also waiting for PS3. M$ sucks, Xbox sucks, Halo is nothing special.
Blu-Ray is not guaranteed to be the next DVD format, especially since all signs are pointing to Xbox 2 and Microsoft Longhorn supporting HD-DVD along with a few major movie studios.

Compare that to Dell, Hitachi, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Zenith. And also Blu-Rays hold more data than HDs. They already succesfully made a quadruple layered disk that can hold 200gb!
But in any case I like the fact that there is competition.
It doesn’t matter what MS does, because computers aren’t used to watch movies. Sony has the marketshare. So even if Xbox 2 used HDDVD, there would still be more people with Blu-Ray players(That would be used to watch movies), because of PS3.
As far as next gen consoles go, each company is even - the market share is currently zero. Microsoft is coming out of the gates first, and believe me when I tell you that they have something coming out of the gates that will make gamers salivate. Just watch what happens at E3 😉
Being that they will come to market almost a full year before Sony and Nintendo, people will have HD-DVD capabilities for about that long.

Just wait until the PS3 comes out. Then we will have something to talk about :mischeif:
