a bunch of greedy money hungry pieces of RAT CRAP. They totally screwed every fan of the other football games and are forcing that piece of camel hump madden down our throats. ESPN was a MILLION times better than madden (my opinion) and even if you dont agree on that, you would probably agree that it is very selfish of them to hog all the rights.

Damn bastards, I am soo pissed, I want to slap those morons 😊

I like the Madden games. I feel that they have that certain fantasy aspect that ESPN lacked in their game. However the realism in ESPN was through the roof. Either way, I have a gamecube so you know what I’m relegated to playing anyway.

No, Madden is the best football franchise there is, and with this, they can make an even better football game.  Altough they don’t need to crush all of the other competition.

I don’t know if that helps them make a better video game, but Madden games have always rocked. Nothing like helming your favorite team, leading the 2005 Buccaneers to the Super Bowl in fantasy even though they suck the butt in real life…

Its not even a debate about which is a better game, but look at the sales of the espn franchise, you cant deny the numbers, I wanna know what EA did to lock that deal.

ESPN also sold for a much lower pricepoint than Madden 2005 did. Even though they didn’t make a gamecube edition.

It’s the same license they’ve always had, so it’s not going to make the games “better”.  In fact, they might be worse, without competition in their face.

They also have a deal with NFL Films, and they are going to have some sort of fantasy football game you can do through online, so yes, I’d call that better.  GO MADDEN!

They simply had more money in their pockets, combined with a greater need.  Simply put, Madden IS EA, and they were not willing to give it up.

Alright I’ll give you that.  Still, a monopoly is not a good thing.  :|

Personally, I think the deal that they should be striking is with ABCsports to get the use of the Monday Night Football trademark. Madden would be so much better under the Monday Night Football banner.

maybe there’s vindication for Sega though…EA really were scared of them.  It’s directly BECAUSE of Sega that Madden dropped to $30 this year.  We won’t be seeing that for 5 years…
