Keep one thing in mind though, Gear Live is a TECH site. Jewelry won’t be appearing in our holiday guide

Fathers - Something they can relax with.  My dad is always exhausted from work and goes straight to the couch when he comes home. Some sort of relaxing music or a good comforatbale chair/recliner would be nice.

Women - Mall Gift Certificate with a heartwarming card (for brownie points)

Teens (males) - Video Games (make sure that the game is GOOD. Do your research on gaming sites like IGN.com before you purchase anything. They can usually tell that games are picked from the bargain bin mainly because they are old games and/or they really suck.

Teens (females) - Same as mentioned above (mall gift certificate).  I don’t think sucking up with a card is necessary when dealing with teens though.

College Students - Any sort of gear that is “on the go” material. Things like music players, cell phones, sunglasses, etc. A gift card wouldn’t be too bad either.

A lot of the things I would have suggested are already here, but here are a couple specifics that are awesome!

everyone/family - ~$500 - Digital Camera: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1 (or T3 if you want). I have one of the T3’s and they are awesome. I can imagine this would be a great gift for anyone but maybe more of a “family” gift where it is for the whole family considering the cost. (t3 review 😉: http://www.i4u.com/reviews/sony_cyber-shot_dsc-t3_review.htm)

Men (fathers), family - ~$400 (after rebate) - Humax DVD Recoder with Tivo: These things are awesome and have 3 great “devices” in one box…a Tivo box, A DVD player AND a DVD recorder! How great would it be to be able to record your favorite season passes, burn them to DVD then watch them anywhere on DVD all by using one box! I have a 140 hour tivo and love it but this one with a DVD player/burner is just awesome. (cnet review = 8.3: http://reviews.cnet.com/Humax_DRT800__80_hour_TiVo_/4505-6463_7-31136252.html?subj=Humax+DRT800+(80-hour+TiVo)&part=rss)

Will add more as time permits 😊. Great idea by the way.

Some of what I was going to put have already been mentioned (Treo650, Thump glasses, Roomba, iPod) but here are two that are pretty cool. May be updated as I find something else.

For the handyman/wannabe handyman:   Power Box? Jobsite AM/FM Stereo with CD [Model PB10-CD]
* A serious jobsite radio that charges batteries & gives you extra outlets
  * CD player with anti-skip technology & MP3 and CD-R/RW compatible[/list:u]

For the ultimate computer nerd: A computer from ‘L’ . Check it out, they speak for themselves.

For the college student:   Logitech io2 Pen
The Logitech io2 looks and feels like a luxury pen with its sleek and stylish design. But unlike most standard office pens, it digitally captures everything you write or draw on our smart digital paper.[/list:u]

Andru

A lot of people have multiple electronics to hook into their TV but only have 2-3 AV inputs.  Use the Pelican Pro to fix this problem.  It has 8 inputs for your Satellite/Cable box, DVD player, Xbox, Playstation, GameCube, etc.  It also features Component inputs.  It is $84 shipped at newegg.

Here is a screenshot of the back:

Not gonna list ideas for each demographic but a few cool things I want for christmas and think others might like.

http://www.thespideronline.com/

This is a training device for pool players that uses laser technology and illumination.  Probably be best guys, but there are more and more women pool players each year.

PrizeCube offers?????  They must be the most HALF-ASSED offers.  I had some people over my house playing halo 2, and i mention a free xbox and they all signed up from my house, on the same computer, My brother got all his refs finished first.  We all have different homes (addresses) and different Credit Cards with Different Billing.  And Prizecube suspended my brother’s account for having friends signed up at the same computer!  And they said that 6 people have signed up from the same computer and that is a violation of their TOS.  Well, Maybe prizecube need this promo to get some people to join up and not get their products.  All the other companies have supplied the free products like they said they would except PrizeCube.  I strongly suggest no one sign up for them.
