Stocking Stuffer (also good for the professionals):

Description:
One of the most irritating aspects about trying to sleep on a plane is the noise from the engines, as well as from other passengers and the crew bustling around. The new Bose QuietComfort2 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones can practically silence the roar of a plane’s engine and fold flat for easy portability. They’re also ideal for trying to block out sound on trains and in the office. The headphones can be plugged into iPods and portable DVD players. The headphones retail for $299.

http://www.sony.com/qualia
Description:
About the size of your thumb, this digital camera from Sony’s insanely expensive Qualia luxury electronics division is barely bigger than the Memory Stick Duo media that it uses to store photos. It is as light as it is small, weighing only 2.01 ounces, yet its magnesium-alloy chassis feels substantial and rugged. But the Qualia 016’s small size has its drawbacks. Many features that are integrated into other digital cameras are relegated with the Qualia to its briefcase worth of accessories—there’s no zoom, but there are wide-angle and telephoto lens attachments; what’s more, the tiny screen necessitates a clip-on magnifier; and no flash is integrated into the main unit, so it snaps onto the side instead. And then there’s that price: almost four large for a two-megapixel camera. You could buy 12 five-megapixel Canon A95s for that price. But the Qualia selling proposition requires you to dispense with those sorts of equivalencies. The point is to have a super small, highly stylized piece of electronics, and by those measures, the Qualia delivers.

Description:
The Dyson’s main selling point is that it doesn’t lose suction over time. James Dyson, inventor of this sleek-looking, English-made, purple upright, realized that vacuum bags get clogged by dust particles, reducing sucking power, so he tossed the bags and replaced them with seven cones that create 1,000 Gs of force each, essentially keeping the dust pinned to the side and out of the way. You can see the larger dirt being whipped around the side of the clear main canister.
OR how about this? It’s the size of a case of LIPSTICK!!!!

Description:
Cellular phones have managed to shrink down admirably over the past 20 or so years. The upcoming Nokia 7280 (scheduled to arrive on our shores early next year) certainly pushes that boundary somewhat. About the size and shape of a tube of lipstick and weighing in at less than three ounces, the 7280 doesn’t even have a conventional keypad. It relies instead on an iPod-style jogdial that lets you dial in numbers or choose from your address book. It is remarkably feature-rich for something so small; it integrates a VGA camera, color display, voice-recognition and Bluetooth and infrared wireless functionality (perhaps the most effective way of entering numbers into your address book with this baby) into its sleek shape. That said, it may well be too small for some people: As handy as it is to have something so tiny tucked away in a suit pocket or evening bag, you can imagine how frustrating it would be to search for this ringing tidbit in a full backpack.

Men: Sony Digital Camcorder SC-D6040

Description:
Many digital camcorders can take digital still photos, but only the DuoCam goes through the trouble of adding a second lens for that purpose. Yes, this is quite literally two cameras in one: A mini-DV video camera with a 10x optical zoom and a 4.1-megapixel still camera with a 3x optical zoom and built-in auto flash. All of the expected bells and whistles are present, including night mode, image stabilization and a swiveling LCD screen. Plus, the DuoCam can record video clips in the highly compressed MPEG-4 format, which makes it easy to transfer (via a MemoryStick card) and store on your computer. If you already have a good digital still camera, the DuoCam may seem like an unnecessary extravagance, but if you’re looking for a compact and easy way to shoot two birds with one camera, so to speak, the DuoCam is for you. http://www.samsungusa.com

Whole family to cherish those moments together:

Can a machine this small actually record respectable video? The answer, surprisingly, is yes. The SV-AV100 D-snap is capable of recording DVD-quality video onto its included 512MB SD memory card. Unfortunately, it is only able to record around 10 minutes of video at the highest resolution, so if you want to film longer, you either need a bunch of really expensive, very high-capacity memory cards, or you need to scale the D-snap down to MPEG-4 video, which has a greater rate of compression that allows it to store from one to ten hours of video. To be sure, the SV-AV100 is a bit of a novelty (and a pricey one at that), but it’s tiny, it weighs a third of a pound, it has a 10x optical zoom as well as a very cool free-rotating 2.5-inch LCD screen and it can record high-quality video, albeit briefly, like the big boys do. http://www.panasonic.com
OR

Most video cameras capture images on a single chip called a charged-coupled device (CCD), which is sensitive to light. The Panasonic PV-GS120 belongs to a new generation of consumer camcorders that adopt a three-CCD technology from professional video cameras. Three CCDs means that each color—red, green and blue—gets its own processing chip, which results in richer color saturation on your videos. Until recently, it was inconceivable to get this technology on any video camera under $1,000, but the PV-GS120 shatters that price barrier. There are more expensive models from Panasonic and other companies that have higher-megapixel integrated still cameras (the PV-GS120 only has 1.2 megapixels), which is a nice touch, but we like the way the PV-GS120 makes the triple-chip advanced color processing affordable and compact. Plus, there are plenty of nice features and goodies, such as a microphone that zooms in and focuses the audio as you zoom in the picture, as well as an image stabilizer and a low-light mode. http://www.panasonic.com
Stay tuned. I will keep updated throughout the week.
