This post is to encourage IE users to make the switch from IE to Firefox. It is a much better program and best of all you have more security. Also if you dont want to sweitch because you dont like the way Firefox looks then check this out.
Use a theme and make Firefox look just like IE.
Get the theme from here http://pages.prodigy.net/zzxc/ieskin/
Please post any information to make the switch over from IE to Firefox easier for people. There are so many plugins that make your life so much easier. All because the great people at Firefox make it open source.

Nothing you can do about those. Those websites are IE only. Download the Firefox extention ieview. And install it . Whenever you reach a page like this right click and view in IE.

May I ask where you got that theme from? I absolutely love it.
And yes, FireFox rules. IE is T3H 5UCK!!11ONE
And the only thing I don’t like about FF, besides what Xcaret said, is that it’s not very flash site friendly.

I use IE still. It’s nice because all pages are designed with IE in mind, so everything works properly. I also am running norton internet securtiy on my computer and google popup blocker. What exactly is the advantage of switching to FireFox?

My favorite feature is tabbed browsing. I don’t know how I ever lived without it.
And thanks Xcaret!

I hate IE so much, that I wont even want people to think that Im using it…

Those pages were created with IE in mind because IE is just popular(was).. IE doesnt follow web standards… Browsers should follow web standards, and firefox does…
You dont need any google toolbar for firefox… it has a built-in pop-blocker and search box for any major search engine…
More help on why you should change to firefox:

The question shouldn’t be “why should i switch to FF?” it should be “why am i still using IE?”
I dont care about what sp2 did or how secure they say it is.My friend uses IE and he gets spyware all the time, even with norton corporate edition (legit even..). I use FF and haven’t had a single piece of spyware for many many months.
I can’t live without tabbed browsing either, makes life so much easier, espeically when u are using a laptop.

Very true. I like that first statemnt. My friends computer was swimming in spyware when I got a hold of it. I tried several spyware removers but nothing worked. Guess what all the spyware was related to? Yep, IE. He’s now using the firefox i downloaded for him and hes loving life with it.

To be honest, a lot of the good features of firefox are hidden to only those who know what to do with it. People who know how to use the about:config menu and install good extensions to optimize the experience the way they want it are those who get the most out of the Firefox experience. I’ve got all the extensions i need to make browsing with firefox fun like candy.

The source code(code that make up every program in computers) is released to the public. Whereas some programs are not opensource meaning the creator is not willing to share the code. When the code is shared other programmers can make add ons and patch certain things.

I have a question. When you install an extension from the official Mozilla Extension site, where does the extension INSTALL to on your LOCAL HARD DRIVE?
I am a bit of a neat-freak with my PC files,& I don’t like not knowing where something is that I just downloaded or installed. The extension is installed into my firefox browser & works fine, but I can’t find where it physically installed onto my hard drive.
Anybody know where it saves to when you download it from the official site?
I downloaded the ieview 0.84 Extension….......
