What is WhatPulse exactly?
Sure we have a fancy website, loads of stats and lotsa users, but many people still wonder what WhatPulse exactly is. This page tries to explain a bit more about what it is, a simple keycounter.

The purpose of WhatPulse is simply to collect statistics about your computer behavior. Some people (Like me) use it to determine how long they’ve worked on something, like a programming project, a school essay, chatting by all means.

BTW. After you sign up for the site, log in to http://whatpulse.org and then do a search for team “Gearlive” and click on join.

  And how do I join a team on this thing?
  Well, first you need to be logged in, and then you can browse to Teams which gives you a menu where you can choose between “Create a team” and “Join a team”. When you choose to create your own team; you will have to fill out a Team name, Team description and a option password (a password is only needed when you want to put a password on your team when other people try to join it.). If you simply want to join another persons team, you can click on the “Join a team” link, and a search will appear, you can search in the teams with ID, name and description; and after you’ve looked for one..there’s a “Join” button on the table. ;o)

You can get your very own sig pictures @ http://whatpulse.bounceme.net You may even customize it any way you like. Remember to join the team.  8)

it only uploads when you tell it to(by double clicking it)

Windows Task Manager displays that it is only using 5,660 K of Mem. Thats less than half of AIM or Yahoo Messenger.

Its a little more than my Weather Channel system tray app…. I might try it later

yea it doesn’t constantly upload to the web just when you double click the W in the tray. and i don’t think it slows your pc down that much cause i have dial-up and i don’t think it can slow it down any more than it already is lol.

I’ve noticed some people have joined but not pulsed. You need to actually double click the W on your system tray so you can send the stats. If you haven’t done so, download the program and log in 😊
