I dont think there’s a winner in this one…they all have their ups and downs, its just a matter of what you can sacrifice or what you feel is more important.
burn in is a lot rarer these days, even with rear projection, youd have to leave up a logo for a long time for it to burn in, but still not having the fear EVER would be great.
LCD doesn’t burn in either, but you do get dead pixels
DLP is the best for me. I have a 52” LG DLP monitor and it is quite awesome. You can even hook your computer up to it so it’s like a giant computer monitor. I don’t know why I would though. O well it’s just a cool feature.
I though DLP could have burn in? That’s what the Best Buy dude told me. It seems like he knew his stuff. :?
Well, I’ve never owned a DLP monitor so I can’t say one way or another, I voted plasma just because I own one, and have had 0 problems with it in the 2 years I’ve owned it.
I have to say that SED (Surface-conduction Electron-emitter Display) TV’s will destroy anything listed here. Toshiba and Canon got together and developed this technology, and the best way I can explain it is basically, they found a way to take CRT technology and squish it flat to a few centimeters. What does that mean for us? That we can have a large television (50in +) that is just as bright as a CRT, has a 8600:1 contrast ratio, 1080p quality, and a 1ms response time. Oh, and it consumes 1/2 the power of a CRT and 1/3rd the power of a plasma. All of this in a flat, flat panel.

Sounds good but I am going to guess that the price will be very large. That is the main problem with Plasma screens. They are really expensive for the average american. I could have easily bought one but I opted for the DLP because it was plenty good for what I do with it. Why drop another 4K for the upgrade? It would’ve been nice but I am ecstatic with the DLP projection :D It’s a great value
