For those of you on the market for a silicon iPod case…

I just thought I’d let everyone know that http://www.lajo.biz is having a 50% off sale on all of their cases and accessories. Click on the little Lajo logo on the very left of the banner at the top of their page, enter 5and5off in the box on the left and then create your own discount key and password in the box on the right and you’re good to go. Everything you put in your cart will be 50% off until Sunday.

I have one of their exo3x cases with a clear ishade and I think its pretty cool, although I’ve yet to compare it to anything else.  At 50% off however, I’m sure all of these cases are pretty much unbeatable in value.

Today’s the last day of the current 55% off sale over there.

I don’t think they’ll ever do better than that.  😊

I don’t see any good prices there.  They’re all like $55.  Way too much for me.  I can get an iSkin on eBay for about $10 :D

Yeah the good old iSkin will probably be the best for me.

LOL….you need glasses fast. :D

http://202.153.110.46/Xskn/features/eXo2%204g-features.asp

If you click each style, you’ll get seperate pages for them, with all the designs available.

Some of them have the more expensive “iPod Art” versions, which I assume you took for the entire product line.

The cheapest regular priced case (the exo 3) is $9.50, and that’s before the 55% off.. Buy a couple, and the shipping is free. 😊

I personally recommend the exo2fb ($17.50 before discount). (I like them best)

Wow I still have no idea how you got to that page.  The navigation on that site is really tricky.

Yeah, it’s not laid out so well, but the link I gave you should help if you have any 4G pods. (The 3G etc listings aren’t as catergorized)

The selection is amazing and beats iSkin by a mile. (They’re doing flag cases, U2 cases, zebra cases etc etc)

I wanted to order one but I can’t figure out how to order it!  O well I’ll just go with an iSkin.  All I want is the plain colors anyway.

Even with the same colours, Lajo has them beat.

With that link I showed you, you should have no problem ordering.

Firstly, follow the instructions in my sig to create yourself a key, to get the 55% off.

Then go here: http://202.153.110.46/Xskn/features/eXo2%204g-features.asp choose the style you want by clicking the the corresponding iPod at the top. You’ll see a list of colours with a menu at the top of it like this:

In the boxes below “20GB” you enter a number for the amount that you want of that case. For 40GB, you enter the number below “40GB”.

When you’re done, click the “Submit” button. When you’re finished shopping, just click the “View cart” button at the upper right of the page.

If you don’t see the “volume discount” of 55% off in the total, just login to your key account (like mentioned in the sig, but don’t use a friend key now), then go back to your cart.

Then just enter your details, and payment choice.

It’s all pretty simple, actually.

ya, ok, that site isn’t so simple. i’m not some internet n00b, some of those buttons don’t work, which automatically does not make it simple.

from the one image i could find of that case, it doesn’t look as good as the iskin either. your friend woul dhave a better time selling his stuff by supplying more images of his product and putting it on ebay.

Well, a lot of it is Javascript, and it’s in frames. I’ve tried viewing the site in IE 6.0, Firefox 1.0 etc, and I haven’t had a problem with any of the buttons there. Although I’ll say it’s not well laid out, and could do with an overhaul.

Which case are you looking at? You say “that case”, but they have so many…

I wish I could say Lajo was a friend, maybe then I could get some free cases! There are plenty of case images, you just need to click on the magnifying glass icons for specific designs. He has resellers that sell on eBay, but he’s the maufacturer himself.

You may also be interested in knowing that this is the guy who made the original iSkin (and according to him, designed it as well), before he and Andrew (The guy who created the iSkin company) had a falling out. From all I have seen lately, they are considered equal to iSkins, but it’s like Coke & Pepsi, each are competing against eachother, and Lajo has no rights to the name “iSkin”, which is a handicap.

iPod Lounge did a review on them and they said they have really shotty workmanship.  The corners are all rough and scratchy.  I’m just going to get a nice iSkin because those seem to be the best by far, even if it is $30.  It’s worth it for a good iPod case.

I did have that protection over the screen. I looked at it the other night and the thing was scrated exactly the same as the screen on my iPod. I was really pissed.  :x :x :x

Go look at the date of that iPodlounge article…..they have changed things since then. 😉

Lajo has undercut the competition so far by his low prices, that it has engendered a good deal of resentment. At the moment, iPodlounge and Lajo are not on the best of terms, and some feel that has come across in the most recent coverage of Lajo products.

There’s no point in arguing, this is the guy who made iSkins, and went solo with the goods, and expanded upon the design and range. Plus, his prices are unbeatable for skins that currently equal iSkin.

It’s not a difficult choice.

Even though the Lajo may be quite similar, it’s the details that make the iSkin stand out. Especially the non-touch screen protector- like said before, if something gets under the Lajo’s protector it can scratch your screen quite easily, while the iSkin’s protector doesn’t even contact the screen.

Another point—the 9.95 skin is only like what, 0.3mm thick? Definitley not enough protection, unless all you want is scratch and ding protection—not the same [however small] shock protection that the thicker silicone cases give.

One thing I will give to Lajo is the click-wheel protector—nice idea, and I orders and exo3mini-fb just to try it out. Works well, but takes some getting used to especially with the silicone. Its good though, when my hands are greasy or sweaty.

That’s the minimum protection available.

He has plenty of other skins that equal or exceed the iSkin in specification, and still come in cheaper. 😉
